How good/fun will GTAV golf be?

I know its gonna be fun knowing rockstar. But how fun do you expect it to really be?

I say 7. Which means pretty darn fun.

 

I've never played a golf game before because golf is boring, but I think it'll be a fun activity in V. As long as it doesn't suck like in IV (tho that wasn't really golf). I hope there's mini golf too..

Voted 7. Being very enjoyable in my own perspective. Instant 10 if we can drive a Caddy and mow down fellow golfers between holes.

There are a few things to consider.

 

*There needs to be decent controls that are fairly simple but challenging enough to make people want to master them.

 

*How do we get from hole to hole? Will we drive the caddy to the ball/tee after every shot? Or will the screen go black for a second and we just reappear there? I hope we have to drive the caddy/walk.

 

*It needs an accurate scoring system which I think it will have

 

*Ability to play against AI at any time or just go solo. I would be surprised if it easnt in multiplayer also

 

*just keep the game basic. This isnt tiger woods 14. I dont know how deep rockstar will go with each mini game but I hope its detailed enough to be fun but not overly involved to where I feel like I have to learn an entire complicated control scheme. (I know i kinda mentioned controls twice but its an important one)

 

*this is GTA. I expect to be able to shoot the guy im playing against right on the green if I feel like the round isnt going my way. Obviously the mini game will be canceled if that happens but if it doesnt let me at all or it restricts weapons while golfing or tennis or any other game that would be pretty lame.

It would be fun to be able to drive a cart between each shot I don't think that's ever been done in a golf game before. A little golf ball icon could be shown on the mini map to show where your ball is so you know where to drive to. Mini map also handy to show the hole layout from above. It's going to be fun. Knowing R* there will be bunkers shaped like body parts need no descriptions

I think i'll find tennis more entertaining... maybe when the game come out its gonna be different, but for now i think golf isnt gonna be that fun.

I love golf, I go down to to the local course quite often really and am a member of various clubs throughout the northern hemisphere. It's so calming and a great way to meet new people/clients not to mention it requires technique and finesse. So if it's anything close to real life it will be a definite 9 for me.

Well it depends if you're a fan of golf. I find it a pretty funny game to play especially when you tie in a bit of gambling lol. Whoever gets the least points out of everyone has to buy the drinks but yea I would give it a 7

I'll say 5/10 as it's 50/50. I don't like golf but might enjoy the game. Apparently the mini-games are more deep this time around so that adds more to my point. I'm not a fan of darts yet enjoy playing it at times over a few pints in life and enjoyed it in GTA IV.

I believe 9 holes has been confirmed from a screenshot.

 

Otherwise I agree with you. It's going to be pretty arcady, but done right it could be great.

 

Still I voted 4 because of the reaccuring nightmares I have from IV's bowling...!

This is where I'll be in multiplayer. I hope to be at the clubhouse watching other golfers play. There could be just a golf server in Grand Theft Auto Online.. That would be awesome. There probably won't be many players on the server so I can have my pick of safehouses on this huge map

Hard to express how disappointed I am that one of our precious side missions is golf. Mini-golf, maybe, but having to do golf for 100% completion being that it should never have been included in the first place? the only thing worse is Yoga.
