July 15th will= 2 1/2 months without significant info at 2 months before release. That just doesnt seem normal.

Once again, there is a difference between august of 2012 and July of 2013. Rockstar has always been short on info for games up to A POINT. When it comes time to market the game, ie: two months before release, they are not quiet. They market their games very well.

 

And for you to say I am impatient makes no sense. I am not demanding or even requesting more info. I am merely stating if we dont get info by July 15th I think there might be a delay to October. That is an observation, not a personal disposition that could lead toward any inference on my character.

I wouldn't say yes they will, as they've been pumping out September 17th pretty vigorously lately, but I would truly be concerned as to what's up. Say they do delay it, that would make Rockstar look worse. It's understandable to delay a game once, but twice? Three times? More? I know when you mention delay, you don't mean another "Spring to Fall" situation which's already happened, you mean a month or so push. I wouldn't see Rockstar doing that though as many large titles launch in October/November. Although honestly, you never know. Rockstar is unique in terms of their marketing and decisions, and you have to respect them for it.

Im not really feeling a second delay. I think its gonna be released on Sept. 17th for sure, after Rockstar announced the special editions they kind of committed more than they ever did before to their release. You gotta think that people can easily cancel their pre orders for $60-150 at any point and save that money for a next gen system and if they delay it they risk losing a huge amount of sales. Not everybody who buys a GTA game is a super fan like us and they could easily have their sales impacted by the next gen consoles if they chose to delay it back. I really feel like every time a delay happens for a GTA game is deliberate to build up the hype even more, its all marketing.

The last preview was on May 2nd, almost, 2 months ago. Yes we have had some screens from E3 and other magazines, but we still have no website, no multiplayer info, and no hands on info.

 

We still have three months, which is alot of time for Rockstar to market GTA V, and these next three months should be jam packed with info. But to make things interesting I wanted to make a little wager based on my own opinion on the matter. If we dont have new info by July 15th, then I think GTA V will be delayed to October, possibly longer. When I say info I dont mean screens. It must be substantial.

 

This is just an opinion of mine, and I dont think that it has been too long since our last bit of info. But I do think that if we dont get something by July 15th, there must be something wrong. What do you guys think? This is just a discussion/poll, Im not claiming "Im right, my word is God, and agree with me"

It's the fact that once any form of speculation occurs on here, the forums go straight retarded and a sea of senseless threads just appear, I don't see how a lack of info 3 months before release is "abnormal" this is how Rockstar have always done things, besides, we already have more than enough info. because there is a lack of info in no way indicates there will be another delay. I don't see how you could possibly think of it like that.

I will have to disagree with you on the fact that silence 2 months before release is normal for rockstar. But as I stated in my other comments, I agree completely on already having too much info on the game.

 

The only things I really want before release are multiplayer info, a SHORT hands-on demo, and a proper website. I think there have been way too many screens, and too many trailers.

Yes, multiplayer info is definitely a must, but not too much, just enough to know some basic stuff.

Eh, I'm just saying that if it is going to be delayed they might as well release it within 2 weeks of the new consoles launch. Wouldn't be very cool to see the game be released in October, only to play it for 2 weeks then drop it completely for new consoles. Especially with all the work Rockstar is putting in to the game with 'GTA Online' and their biggest game yet. Would be a waste.

I don't think there will be a delay mostly based on my own experience with GTA games, they're pretty good at keeping it on track once they announce the date. On the other hand we do have more info on this game then i remember having on any other before so we're on new territory here. Still dont think a delay is probable if they keep their mouths shut longer than necessary.

 

EDIT: they strive on releasing a "perfect GTA game" to a point. Tech change and if you keep improving it to show better and updated technologies anddesigns we might never see the game at all. TTwo will not have that at all and then R* is on their collective asses trying to find a new job.

With such a huge leap from a spring release to September, by no means do I think it would have been an imperfect GTA. I think Rockstar definitely lied about delaying it just to polish and fix bugs, they probably wanted to add more features. Ex: customizable cars. That being said, they still have a lot of time to polish the game till September. Just more reasons as to why a delay is extremely unlikely.

As soon as I saw the new things they added back into V in the 2nd preview's, I immediately thought they might have another delay. If there is a delay, I think it will only be another month or 2 at most. Might end up being an October release after all. July 15 seems like a reasonable date, it's just 2 months out (9 weeks) from release and if there is no information by then, I think another delay will be a sure bet. The website for IV launched in Feb 8th of 2008, just over 2 months from the April 29 release, just something to go by I guess. What's also worth noting about that website launch was that, nobody knew when the launch was until the day before. So you never know, website might launch this week

It's not slipping out of Take-Two's second financial quarter and if there was another delay we would have heard about it by now due to how retail/distribution works. Next gen is not going to have a big impact on the game, even those you MIGHT skip out on it due to the next gen consoles coming out in a month and a half to two months after will still eventually buy it be it on PC or the likely next generation version of GTA V "complete edition" that comes out a year or so later.
