The last preview was on May 2nd, almost, 2 months ago. Yes we have had some screens from E3 and other magazines, but we still have no website, no multiplayer info, and no hands on info.

 

We still have three months, which is alot of time for Rockstar to market GTA V, and these next three months should be jam packed with info. But to make things interesting I wanted to make a little wager based on my own opinion on the matter. If we dont have new info by July 15th, then I think GTA V will be delayed to October, possibly longer. When I say info I dont mean screens. It must be substantial.

 

This is just an opinion of mine, and I dont think that it has been too long since our last bit of info. But I do think that if we dont get something by July 15th, there must be something wrong. What do you guys think? This is just a discussion/poll, Im not claiming "Im right, my word is God, and agree with me"

I think it's completely absurd that people believe a game would be delayed if there's no talk about it from the developers a few months before release.

 

They're not the only people that are doing this, I know there are some people besides me that follow other games and not just GTA and notice that it's becoming a normal thing.

 

They don't even need to talk about the game until August if they have to with multiplayer info and then a launch trailer weeks later, it doesn't affect the game at all.

 

R* aren't strangers to delays, but I'm not a stranger to this kind of marketing.

Don't behave like a dick, he's being patient and he hasn't said he wants the whole game revealed. He has a point and I think he's right. However I'd put money on solid info being released within the next 2 weeks.

 

By the way I don't think a delay is likely. They wanted to be safe on this one, so they'll even have spare time IMO.

That being said, I really don't think that it will get delayed again. I think that R* has already given us so much information that when they do release information now it will be substantial. Considering how much we have already found out via the previews, they can't exactly stretch that out to 3 months or we'll know everything there is to know before we even play the game so I think that they'll be quiet for a while yet and then make a final push starting off with multiplayer info?

 

I feel like we pretty much know everything there is to know without too much being given away aside from how the multiplayer works and perhaps more about the plot. We know the basics but I'm sure there is more to it that they may show off in another trailer.

 

tl;dr: They've pretty much given us a lot already and if they give us stuff on a regular basis between now and September, we'll know so much before we even get to play it.

I doubt they'd delay the game any further because if it is delayed any further they will lose sales. Next Gen, and the usual lot of games coming out around October would lower sales. But in the long term I still think the game will sell exceptionally well.

i dont understand why you think the next 3 months should be packed with info. We've already seen a lot, and most of it is pretty detailed and gives a good understanding of whats to come. If they kept throwing info these next 3 months, I feel like it would spoil it for me. I'm just hoping to hear more about multiplayer since they are getting a boner off being incredibly vague about it.

What's with people about the next generation of consoles will ruin the sales of GTAV? Believe, I'm excited for the next experience of next-gen games, but that sh*t doesn't come close to the highly anticipated GTAV! Well for one the people who aren't really die hard GTA fans see two shiny toys that are much better than the toys everyone else has, so the $60 they could have invested in buying GTA V went into their next-gen console fund. It could hugely affect sales because not every gamer around the world wants to play GTA V as badly as others. As absurd as that sounds it's reality.

This isn't like the Spring 2013 thing. I knew the second they said Spring 2013, I knew it wouldn't be Spring 2013.

 

It is coming out September 17th, 2013. With all the stuff they released regarding the Collectors and Special Editions. The PS3 GTA V bundle, and the information since the start of this year. The game is being released on that date, short of natural disaster nothing will stop it.

 

R* is usually stingy with the information, and nothing is different here. Just creating more stress than you need worrying about it.

I should mention, that I think they have shown way too much of this game already. However, in terms of marketing I think its a safe bet to say that they will market the game heavily in the few months before its release.

 

The biggest things that make me feel it might be delayed is the lack of the website and the lack of multiplayer info. However the website for IV launched about 2 months before release.

 

But multiplayer wise, the game needs alot of exposure. GTA V will be a huge leap in multiplayer for the series and possibly gaming in general, and they need to market the sh*t out of it in order to change the popular opinion that "GTA is a single player game", especially in an industry that is now dictated by online multiplayer.

 

Even that douche Pachter stated that GTA V would have no multiplayer about 9 months ago.

There is still almost three months left until release, and they probably already have the full website almost ready to unveil, and with the exception of multiplayer and maybe 1 or 2 new trailers, that will probably be the last kind of information they'll release.

Dude do you have reading comprehension issues? I swear 3/4 of this forum can't read/don't understand what they are reading. Audiophile posted that he thinks that IF they release info on a regular basis EVEN from this point on till September then they will reveal way too much. How is that hard to understand in what he wrote that you have to laser in on that point of his as if he wrote there isn't enough info and they need to release it on a regular basis. WTF

I think that we may get info either this week or the first few days of july because they have to wait for e3's console hype to die down a bit because people were getting shoved with new news about the consoles and new games and r* did not want to say oh here is a new trailer and not as many people pay attention.

Well I voted yes, but only because it seems almost impossible to me that 1 of the 3 months before release is completely silent. We'll be getting MP info "soon", I doubt about another trailer besides the launch one, and multiplayer previews are a strong possibility. Plus more screens are a sure thing between now and the release, so are surprise Newswire articles with info.

I think July will be the month where we get our first shot at the heavy marketing stage. August will be the month for all the heavy lifting.. and September.... Heh you know what's gonna be going on in September.

you are completely oblivious if you believe they wont affect each others sales. my brother already sold his ps3 to make a down payment on a ps4. he will be playing my copy of gta v, therefore next gen has already affected the sale of gta v by one unit. im sure im not the only one whos experienced this.

I think we're good. "Spring 2013" was a bit ambiguous and we should have known that meant they still weren't totally positive but September 17 is pretty much set in stone. I don't think they'll have to delay more unless it's going to be THAT ambitious.

 

We want it so bad that one one chink in the chain weakens our faith and we begin to doubt. The space between now and then leaves plenty of room for them to supply plenty a information fix, so I'm not getting ready for disappointment just yet.
