hd remake of all 3d universe series gta's

I have recently been 100%ing all the 3d universe gta's in chronological order begininng with vice city stories and ending with III. And I got to thinking how much I and many others I know would love to have a hd remake of the series and having achievement/trophy capabilities. R* isn't really the type of company to release hd collections like the eastern companies are but I figured maybe if there was a huge following on here who voted that they would maybe we can get this wish. So shoot a vote and let me know your opinion on it!

As unlikely as that seems, I would probably buy the HD remakes. Not HD remakes of each and every III-era game, though, probably just the ones I really liked, like GTA 3, Liberty City Stories, and maybe Vice City.

If hd remakes were made (that is in my imagination :-) ) id be talking about a collection of them all not for individual purchase

This idea was already brought up before and it wouldn't work because they would cause confusion for the eras.

It certainly sounds like an interesting idea but to be honest, it would be better to invest time and resources, that Rockstar would put into re-creating the 3D-era GTAs in HD, in developing a new GTA title. It's the best to keep the 3D-era GTAs in the 3D-era.

I don't think it would cause much confusion with the hardcore fans who'd actually buy it because they know which gta's are which and what universe their set in.

While I agree I want R* north to keep taking time developing new gta titles, their other multiple studios could very well take time to remastering the III era gta's. We all know money isn't a problem either :-)

I'm not sure if they could implement the euphoria engine but I imagine the remastering as in updated graphics and player models. Just make everything look and sound nicer

I would imagine it as a collection like the new metal gear solid collection with it costing 60$ for the whole collection. I imagine a lot of people would jump on that!

As much as I love the games I do not think that I would buy them as I already own the current versions on multi-platforms

I think the 3D-Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series is getting quite over-done, they are on most platforms already. I think Rockstar are trying to flogging a dead horse, idiomatically though that may also apply to Red Dead.

I would buy it. They should just release the trilogy in a full HD remake with achievements/trophies and inline multiplayer. LCS and VCS don;t really seem necessary IMO.

If there is enough demand and it's feasible, then yes.

 

But otherwise, there are more important priorities, such as making original content.

Doubt I'd buy it then. Hopefully we'll see the GTA 4 engine in San Andreas and Vice City one day.

I agree. R* should focus on creating new HD titles instead of wasting their overall resources and time but if they could gather enough time to recreate 3D-era GTA titles, most probably. However let's just stick to the reboot of GTA games on modern consoles.

Probably a bit off-topic, but - having recently completed all 5 III-era titles 100% also (not including Advance), one thing that would interest me would be, rather than HD-remakes of each individual title, a game that utilises the extra ability of more modern consoles to create a game including all three maps in one, perhaps set after the events of III, including some of the characters still alive after the end of III.

 

I realise there are a vast number of reasons why this probably won't ever happen (focus on newer games, preferring to have the events of III as the definitive end, logistical problems in porting all the PS2-era games to newer consoles and integrating the maps, etc.) but for me personally, if Rockstar ever did anything like that they could name me their price.

I would buy a messed up diaper with GTA logo on it, unless it's a shark card, wouldn't touch that with a sh*tty pole.

 

3DU games represent the golden age of the franchise. I love them just the way they are, especially numerous visual details coming from Playstation 2. That's where the most of the Rockstar's effort went for the most of them. I'm extremely grateful to our modding community for making it possible to have all those PS2 visual features on PC along with other, numerous fixes and tweaks, and that's more than a ' remaster ' for me, it's a proper "remake" even.

 

However, I'm really not sure whether I would like to see them remastered today, or let alone see them in a form of a remake. Maybe remastered, but honestly, what's the point of bumping up the resolution only, plus there had been some of that already in the meantime after this topic was posted, and what did we get? Nothing. The reason behind not even wanting a remake anymore is simple; people expect to see GTA IV or GTA V. That's just wrong on so many levels, for which I have no nerves in bothering to explain. Let's just say that differences are great and at least according to my own perception, the spirit of 3DU games would simply be lost by introducing or implementing something so radically different as RAGE - game engine HDU games are based on. All those " GTA III, VC & SA RAGE "  videos people are drooling on, are frankensteins at best. Pure abomination with all due respect toward the makers, I don't think like that for the effort and all the work they have put in.

 

That's only for starters and I assume RAGE would be a must for developers, as well as a must have for the consumers.

 

If, on the other hand, remakes would be based on Renderware, or some kind of mix between the two - RenderRage, let's call it - if that's possible at all, then we might be in business.

Visual appearance - graphics - of the two Universes starts from two different points: 3DU is stylized, while HDU is supposed to be 'modern', high-end graphics. With no intention to go deeper in to more important things, such as gameplay, I would simply be disappointed to see GTA III appearing as GTA IV, let alone driving those swaying boats, with laggy controls, huge input lag, all in slow paced, so called ' realistic ' manner.

 

It's a sad thing to think if Rockstar really wanted to upgrade those games starting from what they really are and not turning them in to HD games, people would probably call that a flop, without any regards to those games which are in many ways better than the newer titles even in the original state, just the way they are right now.

I really want them to remake VC and SA, don't care about the other 3D era games much. And they definitely should be remade in the Rage engine, the old one sucks

Take 2 thinks it's a (Bruh) move bcz graphics gets insanely better over years and if R* remaked a game on 2021 or something people will then ask for another remake on 2025 or new level graphics , maybe possible they will be remaked when graphics reaches to an insane level (according to take 2 )

Mafia remake just further convinced me that remakes are doomed to be full of changes that weren't necessary and thus they flop.

 

The graphics give a big part of the 3D era vibe. It would be a mistake to change them.
