123-bob
Is Rockstars way of marketing GTA genius? The way that they release small amount of details over several years about a GTA game thus creating so many questions and excitement amongst the fans trying to figure out whats in the game, e.g. The Mapping Los Santos Thread, its nearly reached 700 pages!!! No other game could create this kind of curiosity

T.P.E
Yes but its no surprise seeing as we go through it everytime with G.T.A Its no less than I expect from Rockstar, if anything (and it has been said many times before) its actually more.
AceHigh11
The long wait and the mystery create very high expectations too. R* sure is confident.

Well they can be confident that more people will buy G.T.A V than any other console release this year. Its a given
Travís.
I think it's a great strategy, it has people wondering what they're hiding and they'll be curious and have to buy the game to see what they were hiding. Very smart.

Leafy Hollow
There is no mystery, it's called a "marketing strategy". This strategy has been in the works for a while and the only reason they are doing it is because it works very we'll.
Murad96
Over several years? It's not even been 2 years since the first trailer was released.
DS 17
This is based on a large fanbase which they were able to create with a game using a market gap in former times. They were the first developer giving their players an open-world-game. This was not usual, so they got lots of fans. Meanwhile there are several open-world games and more are coming out in the next years. The trend that they still have this "privilege" is going more and more away. Btw there are nearly in every fanforum mapping threads concerning open-world games. For all the other games, there is not such a sense in mapping the world, if it's only e. g. a street or similar. ugotsmoked
But everyone knows GTA is the best... On this forum you would think that was true...but too many people joined just to bash V and Rockstar in general...These assholes know who they are... I hope they get their junk torn off by pissed off orangutans.
Anonamix
Yes, I think they are genius with marketing.. Even tho it feels like we have seen a lot, there is so much more. The site will be big for all of us die-hard fans to interact with.. but I am really excited for what has been referred to as "Grand Theft Auto Online." Who knows what other surprises in the next 3 months.. man it feels like I've been saying 3 months for months now.. Right now, most of us on the forums are all hype.. But when it gets closer to release everyone and their mama will be busy talking about GTAV.

EmmitBrown
i love all the little things we don't hear about before the release and then get to see naturally happen in-game and just fall in love with GTA all over again....i.e. people flying through windshields in IV
tinman187
Only GTA can pull this off. Any other game would get immediate backlash.
