thrask1
Here are my specs: http://imgur.com/d3vSYai The game constantly drops below 50 FPS and sometimes all the way down to 25 FPS Is this normal?Has anyone else encountered this? Are my computer parts broken?
luceberg
It's normal for this game, though 25fps is very low for that pc spec. Are you using the latest game patch 1.0.7.0 and are the video drivers up to date? Try lowering some of the ingame graphics settings.

Extronic
so my computer is basically not able to run the game smoothly at maxed settings is what you are saying? Whats not understand? Try lowering your graphic settings and see if it gets better. Namely, try lowering shadows/night shadows. I had had the very same issues with HD7950 back at the time, and 7950 is still a decent videocard, at least. Also, make a text file called commandline.txt in the main IV folder containing following line: -norestrictions -novblank -frameLimit 1 -refreshrate 60 -noprecache 60 is basically your TV/monitor refresh rate, could be like 75 or even 120 Hope that upcoming GTA V wont be as poorly ported to PC as IV was
luceberg
You can run the game smoothly, but not just by putting all the settings up to max. Start with autoconfigure and tweak it from there. Your monitor is very low resolution for playing this game, you need 1920 x 1080 or 1200 to really appreciate it.
sammya
GTA IV was terribly optimized and no matter what you throw at it (even these days) it will still find areas that will choke your build. Seriously your card alone should be sufficient enough to throat this game (in reality) but due to Rockstar's dismal port then in most cases 40-50fps usually suffices. If you are getting low GPU usage I can suggest running some additional graphic mods (texture packs, icenhancer, etc) to force your GPU memory and usage to 100%. I got a intel i5 3550S and a GTX 660 and my res is 1600x900 @60 Hz refresh rate. Have any suggestions for me?
ikt
It's magical how a 2008 video game, looking like balls still doesn't run nicely with top of the line 2013 hardware. dk_rak Try iCEnhancer.
