What tactics will police use?

At higher wanted levels, they should position expert snipers at distant places to snipe you out at any moment.

Oh god no magic snipers please. I've seen this in so many games (especially FPS when you crank up the difficulty). You expose yourself for a tenth of a second and they blow your head off, with one perfectly aimed shot, every time. No thank you.

 

 

@people mentioning "P.O.T." maneuver: I'm assuming you mean PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique, and many other variations; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PIT_maneuver )? Unless POT is something else (Europe?) but Google is not showing anything (besides Flowerpot technique). I felt like the cops in IV did this, but it was just sloppy, and it just looked like a bunch of chimpanzees swarming a banana. I'm certain I've seen it in other games (just maybe not GTA).

Note my use of "magic" and the accompanying description. I don't mind some form of "police snipers" that have range, as long as they don't one-shot me from 2 miles away half a second after I sprint out of cover.
