The New Blueguy
As a black guy, who has watched many urban life dramas, I hope the actual performance of Franklin's dialogue plays out better than reading it because based on that he seems like a cringe-inducing ghetto dumb ass. Not at all the street-smart up and coming ex-banger they described originally. I would have preferred if he just spoke normally with a bit of a south LA accent but I'll wait until I hear it in-game. Not at all the street-smart up and coming ex-banger they described originally. I would have preferred if he just spoke normally with a bit of a south LA accent but I'll wait until I hear it in-game. Ghetto dumb ass? Shut yo ass up. Oh god we've gotta ghetto dumbass on our hands here.. Let me guess, every gang banger in your posse has a college education and are all working towards getting their Ph.D's? No, dumb ass collective, I simply mean that the dialogue as it's read makes Franklin sound quite ignorant. Several times, a sh*t or muthaf*cka seems to be thrown in almost for good measure, followed by one word answers of sh*t... or f*ck... It's like some intern was sitting there at Rockstar North going "hurr durr dis how blak ppl talk in 'merica". Which is more depressing considering one or both of the Housers wrote this, and they've written better so I really hope this is a case of these guys just filling in blanks they misheard. Oh and to the "Grandmaster", no you half-wit that's not what I was say trying to say. Just because you grow in a "ghetto" or impoverished neighbourhood doesn't mean you can't be well-educated or at least be well read, street smart or have a confidence about yourself. That's all. When we first heard about Franklin that's exactly what was implied by his character description, that despite his former lifestyle, was at least well read street smart kid who rose above all that. RedDragonsBOOM
It sounds kinda like fan fiction to me as in its not very well written, but who knows? It's from fan site RockstarTurk.com, which linked to the video where it's from: http://rockstarturk.com/2013/gta-vin-blitz...yayimlandi.html That explains it, its translated so slightly broken English. Thanks for that link man.
Cutter De Blanc
I don't know why, but to me, it seems fake, especially this line: Trevor: "Looks like they hit the panic button, Half the LSPD incoming! I don't know why, but I can't imagine Trevor specifying which police department is coming after them. More or less, he'd probably end up saying something like "Pigs", "Cops", etc. Dude you've seen like a minutes worth of footage of this guy and you're pretending you know him inside and out so well you can predict his lines? C'mooon Implying a redneck junkie cares about which police department is on his ass Trevor is also ex-military. It's for accuracy. Saying half the LSPD distinguishes them from other forms of Law Enforcement. They clearly don't have the FIB or Sherriff's dept. on their ass. And saying "incoming" Like he's back in the war or something. I dunno, I just think pigeonholeing Trevor as nothing more than a "redneck junkie" is selling him a bit short. BUT THE BENZ
Trevor: "Going to work ain't so tough after all." Franklin: "Ooo sh*t alright man you stay safe. How do I know it's fake? weed-o-matic
I think it could be real. After all CVG were shown some of the game and they even timed on how long it took Franklin to land after he had jumped out of the plane/chopper (which was 3 minutes). I take it would sound better when the characters say it cuz thy way I'm saying doesn't sound like the characters, apart from Trevor cuz he's mental

I've seen CVGs videos and this seems legit. And yes, obviously the dialouge will sound a lot better and smoother in action than in text. And I'm completely confident that the voice acting will be amazing seeing how every Rockstar game has great voice acting.

visionist
It could easily be real. It's not witty or "hip" but GTA dialogue rarely tries emulating Tarantino et al. A more realistic script coupled with convincing, naturalistic voice acting is what the game will surely feature.

MikeyTrevFrank
I noticed the dialogue doesn't have that normal Rockstar vibe that every game does but maybe it'll seem different in the game. Franklin's dialogue is slightly embarrassing. He sounds really stupid. Trevor sounds a little too professional but hey we'll see how it is when the game comes out. Braindawg
What if they didn't see the game? What if they made it up for views? What if you'd stop acting smart and just roll with what they tell you? Who cares anyway. If they made it up, they did it pretty damn well, but when we'll see that the end result is different, they'd be hated. I think nobody really wants that kind of negative attention over money and views.
Cutter De Blanc
Guard 2: "The alarm has been tripped, the cops will be swarming here in 10 seconds! You better run!" Franklin: "Shut the f*ck up!" This is the kind of humor I expect from Franklin, It's funny, but not because he's trying to be funny. He's not cracking jokes, he's just like, "I don't care about you, or your problems." You realize that DJ pooh, who helped write GTA SA along with other accomplished movies is also writing on GTAV. Another thing for those commenting on Franklin dialogue. Most Black people in America speak totally different when they are around friends, than they do within a professional environment. It is something that most learn at a early age.
