Sept17th2013
So you get the ability to pilot the blimp if you pre-order GTA V. Right, but how does it work? Does R* put a download code inside every GTA V copy that is pre-ordered? I'm asking because I find it weird, cause then every retailer would have to tell R* the exact figure of pre-orders they got, and then R* would have to put a DLC code in that exact number of copies, and send them to their corresponding retailers, which is hella hard to do. Does it really work that way?
XxXBlackXxX
I think they put a code in the game, So you can active it of one form, Maybe will be a store for DLC and you can buy it or purchase it with the code, Maybe the same with the Special Weapons and new clothes. wwinterj
Does R* put a download code inside every GTA V copy that is pre-ordered? Yes every game will come with a code inside the game case according to Amazon. Chances are you could walk into a store on day one and get a copy of the game with a code inside. I'm guessing that's because on day 1 stores will have the pre-ordered copies with their codes, plus normal copies for people who didn't pre-order but buy them that day...? jpalmer2004
every game on day one will have a preorder code. I worked at best buy for a year in gaming. There is no special box for preorders. You can preorder a game usually a few days up until the date of its release. The stores usually get games in stock 4 days in advance of its release. danny1027
The blimp is probably flyable in the game even if you don't pre-order it. I think the pre-order bonus is just a different skin for the blimp.

SLUGFly
A lot of games do that. I think the preorders are like unspecial special editions (like how as soon as they figured out we'd spend more they started making 'collectors' editions - the special special editions... A Kid With Guns
I remember for something for Black Ops 2 there was a code on the receipt when you picked up the preordered game.
GrandMaster Smith
Does anyone else find this a weird pre-order bonus..? This just seems like a feature that no one would care to have but's still like 'oh cool that it's in the game,' except you can only get it by pre-ordering.. lol I don't really care to pilot it, I mean it'd be fun to take around the countryside but I'd imagine it'd take forever anyways. I'll probably still pre-order it though to assure I have a copy : p
d3ex2
Oh, look, it's this topic again. This has been asked a hundred times already. Please learn to search because if you had done that you'd have found out that Rockstar are including codes inside cases. Not all cases, only the first batch for those who pre ordered. Yes, this means it's very likely some people who haven't preordered will get the codes if they buy the game within the first few days after release. Once all those copies are bought then you're out of luck until they make it available for everyone else. They'll do the same with all the digital content from the SE/CE. Just think of all it as timed DLC.

simonp92
The pre-order boni aren't actually pre-order boni but rather "buy the game new-boni".

Nah... what'd be the point then? Plus R* was very clear in it. This is how it works (same goes for every game ever.) It says "pre-order"... but it's really "buy from the first shipment" bonus... The point in it being called a preorder bonus, is them hoping stores get rid of all their first shipment in pre-orders.... Usually they dont though, so if you walk into the store a few days later, chances are they still have stock from their first shipment, and that containts the code. It might even last longer then the first shipment, not many though.
