But which one do you guys think is going to be the antagonist? In my opinion, it's either Michael or Trevor. Because both of them are more experienced criminals than Franklin (not to mention that he's a young man who's just working his way up in the criminal world) , plus Michael has connections with the FIB and Trevor, he's just a straight-up psychopath. As much as like Michael, I can't shake off the feeling of the possibility that it could be him. Cause think about it, to predict Trevor being the antagonist would be the obvious choice. I mean, I seriously doubt that R* would hint at the big bad of the game just like that. "Playing both the protagonist and the antagonist" Could simply mean that at some point in the game, conflict starts breaking out between the members of the group because eventually one of them does something that doesn't sit too tight with the other 2. Then maybe an other one will do something that displeases that one guy. I think Dan Houser described the relationship between Trevor & Michael like this "At first you think one's the bad guy and one's the good guy, then the roles are inverted, then they're inverted so that eventually the player doesn't know what to think" Still doesn't mean that one will turn on the other two. Tampinha85 Posted June 22, 2013 Share Posted June 22, 2013 Well, actually Dan houser did say something like with the mechanic os 3 protags youll get to play as a protagonist as well as the antagonist..though i think he meant to say you if you want to create havoc you can play as Trevor (a sociopath) and wont have to "break character" when you are playing as Michael for instance (allegedly a less bad guy). The Main Antagonist will be the F.I.B and IAA they will use you until you are no longer needed then dispose of you. We will be pulling off +-8 major multimillion dollar heist with one of the most well known Thief in the GTA world. It takes a way from the multi protag system, so don't expect any of the protags dead or antags. Anyways, I think the main Antagonist or antagonists, will either be some form of federal agent after all 3 protags as a whole, OR each protag will have an antag. Michael -> Federal agent, Trevor -> Columbian drug lord, Franklin -> Either Federal agent or Rival gang leader(Either could work) I personally believe we'll have both of the scenarios stated above, which near the end of the game all antag's will team up to take down their associated protag, But while working together they end up helping the one guy going after all 3. I'd bet this glass of coke to my right that they just meant they can make a character like Trevor who they wouldn't have done before because he's too out there to focus a game on. He meant that each protagonist is essentially another protagonist's antagonist because they obviously are striving for the same goal (the bank robberies), but they will probably eventually start competing to see who is, individually, the best of the trio. What Rockstar actually said is that the three characters could potentially antagonize one another - they didn't actually confirm that either of them will be the 'main bad guy' or anything like that. GR7 Posted June 22, 2013 Share Posted June 22, 2013 One of the protagonist won't be The antagonist it's just saying that there will be disagreements along the way and switching between characters will show other characters talking about each other behind their backs despite being a team. It also means at certain points in the story your impressions of certain characters might change, for example Trevor might do something nice that shows he has a heart while on the other hand Michael might do something so bad that Trevor will seem like the "good" guy out of the three. For people saying that Franklin will be the antagonist I really doubt it, it seems like he will always be in the middle and will have to choose who to side with through several points in the game. Why do you think Franklin is always in the middle of every group shot? it's almost like Mike and Trevor are an angel and demon sitting on opposite sides of his shoulder. Thanks the cool part about it is both characters will change roles throughout the game so it will be hard to tell which one actually is good or bad which could be why Mike and Trevor switch sides in some of the artworks but then again I could be reaching too much. I see the connections but following that exact story would be too predictable, Tommy basically became Tony Montana and the final mission was basically ripped straight out of scarface but in the end he didn't die like Tony did because they switched the story so it wasn't predictable.
