GrandMaster Smith
How the bloody hell do you get an 80s atmosphere? Its set in the future/modern time. There is NO 80s vibe/atmosphere what so ever. Brand new modern cars, brand new music. And rap? lol Rap didn't exist in the 80s. Or at least not until 89. Every single post I see you write, you make some of the most ridiculous and dumbest claims ever. You don't know crap.. rap started in the late 70's. And yes, Michael's trailer had a very strong 80's vibe to it, particularly since the song itself is a famous 80's top chart song. Michael being around his late 40's- early 50's would've grown up in the 80's and it's said he's having a mid-life crisis so I'd assume there's a lot of him reminiscing on his past and younger days in the 80's and whatnot. It's very obvious they're striking a chord with a very wide fanbase, Trevor based on III's chaos, Michael around Vice City's glam and Franklin on San Andreas' thug theme, just each with their own twist. Dick Justice
Of course there's an 80's vibe, two of the trailers have used well known (and loved) 80's pop songs. Nobody is claiming it's set in the 80's though.

l911
i think it have more 70's feel to it, with this bright bug killers van and the heist theme.

Blaherman
also the next gta should be set in the eighties again, in vice city yet again lol.
walkingsickness
Probably the songs in the trailer making you feel that way. have you seen the cars in those trailers?....The 80's didn't have that sh*t
Dick Justice
Whose talking about cars though? A vibe is a theme, it's like a feeling. It doesn't have anything to do with what's physically present. Give any film a different score could score and it has a completely different vibe (imagine Scarface with hip-hop), the physical has no bearing on the feeling it gives off. I had a late 70s/80s feeling at some moments while playing Tbogt that I even thought that, despite some things, it was originally made to be set in that era. twistedweather
Roadrunner71 mentioned a flashback mission prologue mission set in the 80s... where you play as Michael doing a bank heist the actual heist that he gets caught and turns FIB witness/informant that would be cool mabye I felt a little 90s vibe with the Franklin trailer...jus a call back to San Andreas
HOW'S ANNIE?
Michael's trailer has a bit of an 80's vibe to it, but all around I don't think we'll really have an 80's vibe when playing it.
Game2048
Yes, of course. But,most likely, this is just vibe created specially for trailer

Thunder-Soft
I think you might be making the common mistake of relating "80's vibe" with "fun vibe". Easy mistake. V looks like it will be a nice break from the dreariness of of IV.
GourangaMaster
No 80s vibe at all. They are both set in sunny and vibrant locales and michaels trailer featured a Queen song from the 80s. The extent of the similarities end there. Edited June 24, 2013 by GourangaMaster

Eutyphro
No and i find it funny how i never saw ppl mention that Queen band and after Michael's trailer all of a sudden everyone seemed to have been life long fans i personally didnt like the song So people should have mentioned Queen on a GTA forum before their song was in a GTA game? That makes a lot of sense man.. Queen is awesome. Pretty much everybody knows Queen, and most people think it's a very good band. There isn't one band today that is even 1 percent as good as them IMO.
