Paper Mario
I just finished the main story and now I am very sad.. John didn't deserve to die man.. Poor man. I really liked him. And a few years later his wife died too leaving only his son in that stone cold world. I am not sure what to say about Undead nightmare though.. I find that sad too because in the end you can free-roam as him again as zombie and then he doesn't have his peaceful rest.
Distrom
Wow You didn't know the ending of RDR? I got the game almost 2 months ago, but I spoiled myself the ending like a year ago. The ending is very noble, and R* did eight ending the game, althought I like John better than Jack, Im happy with the ending, at least we can take revenge on Edgar Ross playing as Jack

I hated how he still survived when I shot him during the last mission as John.

jamieleng
It takes real guts to kill off probably the greatest protagonist Rockstar has ever created. When done correctly it can be brave & powerful, but you really have to care about the character for it to work. John Marston dying (in a pretty awesome way) was inevitable in the grand scheme of things. The world in which John thrived was dying, the whole game was about the death of the Old West. I know some people hated that the last mission was you controlling his son, but getting revenge on your father's killer was sweet justice & felt really satisfying. The credits roll to Ashtar Command's 'Deadman's Gun', which is a perfect song to a perfect ending. So many games & movies can be great but then fluff the ending, but this was sad, epic, fitting & most importantly, satisfying. I'm currently finishing the GOTY edition (I like that you can use your save file from the original game) & I've left all the 'Stranger' missions for Jack to do after the main story is finished. That's the sort of detail & effort that Rockstar puts into their games, you can do all (apart from the 'Strange Man', who's supposedly an omen of John's impending death) the 'Stranger' missions with both John & Jack. That's why it's my 'Game of all Time', so far. Edited June 23, 2013 by jamieleng
Lock n' Stock
As sad as it is, I think it was very well developed and delivered a great message. Besides, playing as Jack finally gives me a good reason to be an outlaw.
Chukkles
It's impressive that you've kept away from knowing the ending. Congratulations on actually making the choice to pick it up (eventually). Hope you enjoyed it, it truly is a masterpiece of gaming, which is why V holds so much potential.
