I think LC is a perfect city to have an immigrant protag, but I think Niko was really boring and dull. It was also annoying whenever he was accepting a job, all he'd ever say is "if it pays, I'm in", and other unoriginal money-related things. I wish R* was a little more creative with his dialogue. He is the epitome of Badass, and while the three protagonists of V look alright, Niko, with his skills and experience, could easily f*** all three of them up on his own. He is the deepest, most emotional and most human character. Despite being a murderer, cold-blooded and borderline sociopathic, he's stalwart in his principles and overall commands a degree of respect for his practicality and genuine personality. Did he tend to get greedy in the second half of the story? Yep. Niko believes what he is told, does as he is asked or ordered, and views the consequences as something for which he is not responsible. You could tell he cared fiercely for his friends and loved ones. Without a doubt that's what made him so complex and realistic. His dialogues were really deep and it seemed like he had the most layers to his personality out of all the main characters. It's not an ingame fault R* overlooked like some people make it seem. It was deliberate on R*'s behalf as far I'm concerned. I love that he often contradicts himself and has conflictions.
