gta5freemode4eva Posted June 22, 2013 Share Posted June 22, 2013 You guys do know that Dan Houser is Jim Hensons nephew, you know, the creator of the 80's show The Muppets. All of Rockstars games have been released on the anniversary dates of his uncles death back in the 90's as a tribute to him. It started with the 1st Rockstar game and the GTA's have been released every 5 years with the in-between games Mafia, Manhunt, Bully etc released on the 2-and-a-half year dates. Rockstar was called Rockstar after Dan and Sam fell in love with Animal (the mad nutter drummer muppet). They were going to call the company name Retro Pigfrog but decided to go with the 'alt' hero of the show. This leads to why the Manhunt 1 boss was Piggy as an 'ode' to Miss Piggy. This is why the name Jimmy Hopkins was chosen in Bully, (Jimmy/Jim Henson). They created Mafia as it were based on Jim Hensons favourite genre and CJ came about because it was named after the 100th show which was called Clever James. Google it. But I think Grand Theft Auto is such an incredible and outstanding brand - it really doens't matter when itt will be relased (like competition, or fiscal year wise). They should sell the same amount in every month and in every sitatuation as these couldn't really affect on sales numbers if we are talking a mammoth brand like GTA. It's a good month but they have chosen to release it 4 days after Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 remix that no doubt will sell crap loads. It won't effect the sales of GTA V though so no big deal.
