Will you buy next gen consoles?

Just curious to see what the results would show, and was wondering what you guys will do.

 

Me personally I will wait until I'm done playing the game before buying a console. I don't think there is much out there to offer for either in terms of video games at launch anyways.

im kinda syked about The Crew and Infamous Second Son....both of which are Febuary/March 2014 releases.....im sure ill be done with GTA5 by then.

Yes, I will buy a console but still play GTA V regularly on PS3/360.

It's gonna be a minimum of 3 - 6 months after they release before I get a PS4. I'm not making the mistake I made with PS3 and buying one when it only has 2 or 3 games out worth playing. Once it starts assembling a strong enough lineup to sate my desires, I will get a PS4.

 

X-Box One, knowing that they're now not requiring 24-hour access online, and no used game restrictions and such MIGHT (and I do emphasize "MIGHT") get one near the end of its lifespan, just as I did with the 360. But it's definitely gonna need a strong lineup of exclusives that extend beyond simply Halo and Gears Of War before I even consider it.

Im not really that interested in next-gen to be honest. I know there's some cool games coming out on them but ive had my eyes on GTA V for years now and that's where my hype is staying. Maybe in a year ill give in and buy in a PS4 but for now, i just dont feel the need to buy one. Im pretty satisfied with what i have right now.

Well I won't buy next gen until 1-2 years after its release, but I know still then I'll play V regularly.

I will wait until I am done with highschool [ June 2014 ] and see if the PS4 has any problems and how many strong games it has. Until then, GTA V and BF4 all day, erryday!

 

So yeah, I have the perfect plan on when to buy the PS4 and still be able to enjoy GTA V

Nope, next gen doesn't interest me in the slightest until they come down in price and they get the kinks sorted out that will inevitably come with the first iteration.

I'll wait until there is enough games to warrant buying the system. Right now there is only one game for next gen I know I want to play, and that is Watchdogs. While it may be awesome, it ain't 400-500$ of awesome plus price of game.

 

I didn't buy a 360 until after GTAIV came out. And then I only got a 360 for the exclusive dlc for GTA and Saints row 1-2 wasn't available for PS3.

Getting PS4 at launch but I'll be switching between PS3/4 since there are still a couple games on PS3 that I've got to play. I'm pretty excited by the launch line up for PS4.

I'm buying GTA V then getting PS4 when it comes out. Then I will have both PS3 and PS4 connected to my TV so I can play both.

If GTAV is out, I could care less about a next-gen console.

 

I'll probably buy a next-gen console if the first next-gen game from Rockstar hits stores (Bully 2, Midnight Club V, Red Dead 3, Agent or another completely new IP) - there's no reason for me to buy a new console before that time.

GTAV will have no impact on when i buy a new console. I will probably wait till they start doing the console with game bundles as they are usually better deals

I don't like the MGS or FF series...but then I don't much care for Halo or Gears of War either.

 

Uncharted looks good, but not enough to be decisive.

 

If The Last Guardian (makers of Ico and Shadows of the Colossus) ever actually comes out that might help me to make my decision.

Never buy a first gen version of a console.

 

I think we learned that from Xbox 360, if memory serves me there was also a problem with the first batch of original Xbox.

 

Plus they're always ridiculously expensive.

I am not a HUGE game player.

 

I am still "playing" GTA IV regularly. I like games that have massive replay value.

 

Until they bring out a really "MUST HAVE" game for the next gen then I will pass on them.

 

If V were to be later released for the next gen then that would prompt be to buy one, sooner rather than later.

 

After Microsoft's announcement I think it's going to be a PS4 when I do eventually succumb.

I'll be playing GTA V just as long as I have been playing San Andreas so I'm not waiting until I'm done with it until I get a next gen. By the time I'm finished with V the PS5 and XBOX TWO will be out!!

 

What I'm doing is keeping my PS3 and getting a PS4 as soon as possible. I might give up on my PS3 when PS4 implements Gaikai AND if it works well enough but otherwise I will be keeping my PS3.

I doubt you'll see a price drop within the first year. Maybe in 2015/2016 when they release a SLIM version.

"No, I will wait until I'm done playing GTA V first before buying a console" is the option that best suits me. Current gen consoles still have a lot of life left in them and nothing that will be the launch line-up of current gen consoles has me on the edge of my seat and rushing out buying a next gen console day one. The very few games that get me hot and bothered (Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV been the main ones) don't have a release date yet and won't do for sometime. Several next gen games are on current gen also (Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed IV, GT6 and MGS V).

 

I can't justify myself ditching such great consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 that have great games on the systems just to buy a console that won't have many games on it for a year or so yet. Just as any console cycle. I'm happy enough to wait a year or so, have more games on next gen systems, have maybe a price drop, have all the launch days bugs sorted and maybe even a slim model announced. During that year I'll enjoy current gen systems and save a bit here and there to buy a next gen system when it seems worth my cash.

Like with previous consoles, I'm waiting until the price drops. If I got my PS3 the day of release, I would've spent about double for the exact same thing.
