DrDucky
The past 3 days I've been coughing alot but I don't feel sick at all. The first day I just woke up with what felt like a dry throat and my esophogus was tickling me into coughing. I spit up a greenish yellow mucus 3 or 4 times but then it was gone. The next day was the same except I felt a little bit weak & there was no mucus. Today I've gotten a throbbing headache on top of the coughing & it hurts alot when I look at something bright. It also hurts my esophogus when I take a deep breathe. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow but I just wanna see if anyone knows what it is.

Wolf of Badenoch
Sounds like a bad case of hay-fever coupled with a migraine thrown into the mix. I'm no medical expert, so that might be completely wrong. Edited June 22, 2013 by Valenta

K^2
If we're making bets, put me down for $2 on Influenza. It's not uncommon for some strains to have respiratory symptoms hit before all others. Of course, there are many other possibilities, which is why you should see a doctor. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. WHAT!?
Yeah you're dying. Sorry about your luck... In seriousness though it sounds like a sinus infection. They can get pretty out of control. A run of antibiotics will fix it up... and some Vicodin depending on how bad the headaches get. I'm not a f*cking doctor though.
Wolvington
Instead of posting your symptoms, you should have immediately visited the doc.
WhitValid
^^ that's what they always say. But a US doc visit costs $200 minimum and equals a lot more embarrassment than losers in the GTA forums. Share STDs below.

LittleBlueTroll
No point using Google, you always seem to end up with the worst case scenario. If you Google hayfever symptoms it would probably tell you that you don't have long to live. Go to a real doctor if you're concerned.

FAH-Q
Oh my god, why are people so reluctant to see a doctor? JUST GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! God forbid you actually have something serious. Forum doctors, lol, ahhh man.
LotusRIP
Have you been near asbestos recently? I found out last week my Grandma has lung cancer caused by Asbestos. So thanks for that. Find it pretty sick that many of you can throw cancer/death jokes around here so shamelessly, considering what happened to GTAFreak2001, one of our own longtime forum moderators. Danz.
Dude, it's probably just a flu. I have it once a year. Man up and take medicines by yourself like I always did, or go see a doctor to treat your anus it. People've got to stop being so fresh.

It's not something that you can safely take on your own, like cough medicine. When I get symptoms like that it's almost always the common cold and I don't go to the doctor or take any drugs. The common cold heals itself and the cough medicine is to treat\alleviate symptoms. It can't be cured. So yeah, I pretty much self diagnose based on my readings. If the cold-like symptoms are really severe (you can look up influenza symptoms if you think you might have that) then it might be influenza in which case you should definitely go to the doctor. Edit: People seem to confuse common cold with the flu. The flu (influenza) is more severe than a regular cold and you need to go to the doctor to give you the proper medicine. Also, like I stated above, don't ever take antibiotics on your own. If anyone bothered to read through his first post it may be noted he has already made an appointment to see a doctor and is simply here to ask for some aid in the analysis of his symptoms. I had a horrible sinus infection once. lots of green mucus and trouble with light as OP described. I eventually couldn't hardly manage to move my body. I went to a doctor and was perscribed antibiotics and Vicodin. I assume he may have a similar experience.
K^2
Edit: People seem to confuse common cold with the flu. The flu (influenza) is more severe than a regular cold and you need to go to the doctor to give you the proper medicine. Also, like I stated above, don't ever take antibiotics on your own. The symptoms he listed are more congruent with influenza than a rhinovirus or other common cold pathogen. Influenza can frequently result in dry cough that hits long before other symptoms. With cold, you usually have the full spectrum of the symptoms pretty much at once. But these things vary, of course. And while there are anti-viral drugs that can help a bit with influenza, you pretty much have to let it run its course. Same as the cold. It is more likely that you develop complications, and then you need the doctor. But it's not like you are likely to die of flu if you don't get help. Oh, and these severe colds you've had in the past? Some of these were probably influenza; you just didn't know. Finally, while misuse of antibiotics can cause some really nasty stuff, it's not exactly rocket science. Each antibiotic typically has a prescribed course which you have to take. Correct dosage and duration are easy to find. They are usually right there on the box/pamphlet. They are also readily available on-line. This isn't one of these, "Never, ever," cases. There are situations when you should take antibiotics, and you might not have the time for the doctor. You should know how and when to take them. But yeah, if you can, go see a doc just in case. Not that antibiotics would be any help with influenza, unless you develop an infection alongside. Which would be in the list of possible complications I've mentioned. Sounds like you have a URI, denoted from the greenish-yellow mucus being coughed up. Beyond that it would be hard to tell without looking inside your mouth to attempt to see if you had any Pharynx swelling, or swelling of the tonsils. If you suffered stridor I would lean towards Epiglottis, but you didn't state you were having breathing issues in your original statement.
