Return of Bounty Hunting

No, we're not talking about the "bounty on your head" system in which police have placed a bounty on you, etc etc. This time we're trying to figure out the possibility of a return of the Bounty Hunting System in Red Dead Redemption, modified to fit in GTA V, more so as a side game that can compete with the classic burglary missions of san andreas.

Basically, the Red Dead version had wanted posters and you could chose to either kill or bring back the bounty alive for a reward. Since we DO indeed have a "bounty hunting" system in the modern world, how could that fit in with the GTA set up?

A lot of people will whine and b*** because they say "GTA is for mayhem only and not helping!" True, but let's not forget that in GTA IV you still had the option to act as a police officer and take down criminals which was, let's face it, a little fun and a nice change of pace from the road always traveled.

Here, we could see Trevor needing some extra cash (before any heists have taken place), checks out the local office to find bail jumpers, possible leads on their location, and given the green light to bring them in.

But let us not forget,,,,this still is GTA so it would not have the be the ultra realistic version where you can't harm the bounty, etc. In this version, keep it simple like the RDR... $500 dead, $1000 alive. Simple as that. Just gives something additional to the game to keep the replay value going a bit longer than just the traditional "fly through the mission and be done and bored"

Need some quick cash...and a little bored...

This is in GTA, they're called Vigilante missions.

Which I hope are improved.

More variation in the criminals to catch and you are able to respond to crimes on a police radio.

If you kill many criminals the police will start to track you down.

My bad I neglected to mention the old school vigilante missions from PS2 era GTA's as an example.

The one that's contemplated for GTA V though would be much more similar to RDR's and or GTA IV's in terms of the acceptance of a bounty, tracking them, execution, etc. and actually having some store linked to the criminals (e.g., cannibal on foot running through Sandy Shores,,,take him down)

solid thread. but fake and misleading title smfh

The topic title is the same as the topic being discussed so how that is misleading is beyond me.

Remember the most wanted list in IV? I bounty hunt all the time in GTA...just no one asks me to, I don't get paid, and I make up what the targets did as soon as I choose one.
