Journey of Fantasy
How do you guys think the protag will carry out yoga ? I mean, what gameplay would be associated with it? Like tapping some buttons etc. Would it be like the gyms in previous gta games ? And what would we benefit from it ? Money ? Muscle ? Stamina ? Opinions please. Quackerz Gamerz
My guess would be holding down the triggers and moving the left and right sticks in the direction you want to move your protag's arms, legs, head, etc.
I-WANT-NANOBOTS
do you remember how you had to dance in GTA SA? I believe that would work for yoga

Degrees
I hope it isn't button smashing like weights in SA that was boring. I expect some sort of payoff if doing it.

I swear I don't know how anybody could do such a boring thing. (and I'm a RP sometimes)
Journey of Fantasy
I am very curious as to what new gameplay feature will R* bring by the Yoga. Or will it be the same mashing buttons / pressing the buttons at the right time (Like dancing in SA) like the previous GTA's ? It will be really good if it is something new. And what will be the reward of YOGA ? I hope it would be something significant.

It wa shard as f*ck but Diving in the Olympics games used a similar system. It's actually what I was thinking when reading OP.
r0eladn
Yoga in V. To me it sounds like putting pieces of pumpkin or eggplant into a delicious cake.

Redwood Cigarettes
Yeah maybe a mini-game with quick time events that boosts one of your stats (stamina?) or something
RedDagger
I'm hoping it's not QTE, because they're boring usually, though in TBOGT it was okay. Shouldn't be so early to dismiss it, you don't know what one has to do for it - though it's not going to be anything exciting.
Fist5547
If GTA V is going to have Character customization, then Yoga would be good for updating stats.
CTCCoco
I think nobody of you can understand how Yoga will revolutionize the way we think about a GTA game. Yoga will make the difference between another GTA failure or the most epic GTA ever made to date. Yoga will certainly re-defines the Sandbox genre in a way we, as mortal humans, can't still imagine. You can't even get near about how it will work, because it's just the essence of the game. Everything, and mark my words when I say everything, will makes sense ONLY with the way Yoga is implemented in the game itself. Sorry, but I already give up to figure out how this mastermind feature will work. You, as intelligent people, should do the same.
Kiffster
I don't understand yoga in real life and I can't see how it can be fun in the game. I guess we'll see.... Maybe it's something Michael can do to improve or prolong his whatever. Maybe his special ability or some kind of skill. Yoga has to do something, it can't just be a useless minigame, can it? (Btw, Can all 3 protags do yoga? I can't see Trevor or Franklin doing it)
CapitanCarrot
I hope each character has their own personal yoga style. Michael should be somewhat incompetent due to old age and stiff body, but at least be trying. Trevor should wave around like a drunkard about to fall over, and Franklin should be 100% total pro concentration master yoga Matrix style. Dr Bannington
do you remember how you had to dance in GTA SA? I believe that would work for yoga Yeah, Quite possible. I doubt something that requires heavy concentration and body control will require button mashing lol im leaning more towards what the other guys said about the analog sticks. As far as charcter benefits - maybe some stamina points, improved discipline for stealth, and steadier hands for aiming. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. Theres still a huge possibility that it wont be that much fun though.

bluekingskin
I have this indie game on my Xbox called "Try Not to Fart", and if none of you have heard of it, see this: I cried with laughter the first time I played that, but I digress. The button system for the Yoga in V could work. If you can't watch the video, you are trying not to fart, and to hold it in, you must press and hold on different buttons on the controller. For instance, it would light up A and LB, then after a few seconds, Y and RT light up too. A few more seconds, and LB starts flashing to tell you to let go, then B lights up, hold that, Y and A flash, X and LB light up, you get the point. It's actually a challenge. Costs next to nothing on Live, check it. That's more fun than a button combo anyway. Top that off, imagine in V having a fart as the consequence for failing Yoga. Come on R*, I want the humour back in this game! I have faith! Edited June 21, 2013 by dubstep_goon
cp1dell
I find it funny that people are so turned off by the idea of Yoga in V - yet they nostalgiate over the "fun" of dancing in SA.

kesta195
Yoga will probably improve Michael's bullet time ability, as it increases concentration etc.

They obviously put it in the game to be as a funny activity to do, apparently most of the members here don't get the point . GTA has always been a parody of the real world so of course they put yoga to make fun of all the people who think it is necessary for their life. Imagine Trevor doing it, wouldn't it be funny ? jameznash
Yoga builds core strength so that should help build stats. Shooting would be more accurate, Run a bit faster etc.. I think that you will need to complete yoga games - maybe at different difficulty levels to get to the max ability levels. Say its like a % so 5% of stamina will be from yoga, 5% will be tennis etc... You can't just run around for hours for it to get to its maximum.
