Sure developing more ingame content means it takes more time, but it gives GTA more diversity.

I get your point and have to admit, even though this diversity is there, I hardly used it.

Never played basketball in SA after the first 2 times.

But I did play the minigames in GTA 4 a lot. But they were too easy. Always won at bowling, getting a strike is way too easy. Darts is ridiculously easy. Pool can be challenging, but well, it's easy, too.

Despite these games don't have to be "hard" to be actually fun, I enjoyed them. I don't see the particular point in yoga, yet.

As for Tennis: I love Tennis and there are plenty of Tennis games out there. They're fun to play. Having a neat simulator in GTA V is amazing.

Golf,...well, can be entertaining, too. Maybe we can win competitions and earn cash?

The underwater exploration will be fine, too. We will fight sharks as we dive for treasures. I'm curious about that.

The only time waster is you with this useless thread . I also love how you haven't even played the game , yet you somehow assume that the activities especially underwater are useless . You're one of those people who don't like diversity and keep buying the same sh*tty overhashed COD just to shoot some Doodies .

You don't have to have played the game to know yoga is going to be boring and worthless. That's an absurd suggestion. I also do like diversity - which is why I want more BETTER minigames than yoga.

Yes, you do have to have. What a f*cking stupid thing to say.

Actually, yes, I have to. I can't just say that my first glance of "yoga" is nothing but 100% fact.

As folks have said, it could help with stats or even lead to something worth a laugh happening (like failing a move/input and winding up cracking a fart, to the horror of everyone else). No one's seen anything on it asides from a few quick glimpses in the trailers/screenshots.

yeah, the mini-games, in the long term, will be worthless if we can't play them against each other online. I loved the pool game in IV... would have loved it even more if it would have worked in free mode.

the underwater stuff will be cool, but if there's some sort of underwater destination, like a secret sub base, where players can chase each other to and from in online MP modes and have battles therein, then the sea will truly add another dimension of game play, at least online.

You say they the time spent on minigames could be spent else where.. Tell me, where?

The time it takes is probably very minimum. I'd even say that they could make a few minigames within the delay time which is NOTHING out of 4-5 years they've spent.

Like I said above, give me an example as to where the time could of been spent that would of made the game more enjoyable and create more things to do because honestly, I can't think of anything.

Even if they made yoga as interesting as it can be, it's hardly a f*cking game-seller is it? It's BORING. It's STRETCHING.

I voted partly, only because I don't see the point in yoga... Although R* could prove me wrong.. and it does seem to fit the socal life.

I'm super excited for underwater though! I think it's a great addition and they didn't half-ass it (as far as we know right now).. I don't think I will spend a whole ton of time down there but who knows?!

Yoga is a little ridiculous. That was a definite waste.

Yoga is the only one that sounds pretty dumb to me. Trevor doing Yoga? Hell, I can't even imagine any of them doing Yoga.. They should have there at least be a boost to how Trevor, Franklin, and Michael move around for a couple of days and then it wears off. As for Tennis, couldn't they have included basketball or hell maybe even soccer or football since those are more popular? I'm not asking for an all out NBA 2k, Madden, or FIFA mode when you play those sports. Just something simple. Maybe they did and just haven't shown it yet. I'd like pool back, but this time I'd want 2 people on the same console to be able to play it like SA did if I remember it correctly. And gambling games from RDR were fun once you got the hang of it.

How is something that will add extra hours to an already huge game be a waste? Whether you touch Yoga or not, it still adds more to the game than without it.

You do Yoga once and then never..so yet its a waste. They should invest the time to enhance tuning or some other stuff that we will do way more frequently

Obviously during development, the main things are done first. I assume the mini-games were implemented at a later stage and surely don't take up that much time to make, especially in comparison to scripting missions, programming AI, etc. The underworld part is a thing that worked well in San Andreas and they wanted to recreate that. It's all about having a huge and very polished game.

yoga - what are you going to do, strain a muscle? confused.gif

Ha, just to force us to use yoga, Rockstar may design some missions or challenges to complete, that require proficiency in yoga. Just like those goddamn button-mashing dance missions. colgate.gif And then, yes, if you do the yoga wrong, you sprain a muscle, and have to limp and run slower for a couple of in-game days. Now that's what I call a minigame. NOT !!!

'wtf rockstar y u no include yoga'

sarcasm.gif I've been saying this about GTA games since even before people wrote like this. biggrin.gif

OT, I agree with the point of the OP that some things sure sound like a waste of development resources at this point in our knowledge of GTAV.

But I also agree with some other comments above, that some minigames and features are much more fun in the long run, than others. At this point, I think a lot of people are looking forward to underwater exploration. But it remains to be seen if that environment and any activities in it will endure for long term popularity.

It would be hilarious after all the bashing yoga has been given over the months if it turns out to be one of the fan favourites. lol.gif

Anyway I think these minigames simply add a more dynamic feel to the game and give the impression there's more than meets the eye.

I loved bowling in GTA IV aswell as pool. Darts not so much and the mini games introduced in EFLC were good too.

The dancing mini-game in TBOGT was f*cking hilarious, and I loved the mini-games from TLAD.

I can imagine Michael throwing out his back and saying things like "I'm getting too old for this sh*t".

If anything, I'd like more activities like Yoga in GTA. As much as I like driving, and shooting, or driving to somewhere then shooting things there, or driving while shooting things, it never hurts to have minigames that are totally different to what you do in the main game; it adds variety.

Partly for me. Tennis minigames are all good but yoga can f*ck off. I'd prefer bare-knuckle underground boxing matches or basketball minigames personally. Basketball would be good actually. You could come across a neighbourhood basketball court and challenge a bunch of people hanging out there playing to a game, bet money on the outcome and win cash. icon14.gif

Agreed. After running drugs for LJ, completing hits for The Fixer, taking out most wanted etc in GTA IV sometimes I like to chill out with a game of bowling or pool.

I believe there has been a big focus concerning the minigames to make em much more fleshed out and "complete". With Table Tennis (brilliant little game) under their belt, why couldn't they deliver on a proper tennis minigame?

I'm not the least bit worried about this.

Lol at this thread.

It's like people are actually thinking we could have another city if R* didn't spend time doing minigames or something.. GTA V has been in development for YEARS. The game was probably FAR into development when they started programming the minigames. I promise you, NOTHING is being sacrificed from them adding yoga and tennis. And underwater? How would that even be considered a waste? Alot of people were upset when they realized there was no underwater in IV after San Andreas.

The game's gonna be AMAZING, you won't be worrying about this stuff come September 17th.

Sorry, I edited my post above. There are many different mini games which could have been added, but yes, game features also actually.

Also, why on earth would any of the characters do yoga in the first place? Michael would probably break his back*, Franklin I simply can't see it, and Trevor, well..

* He's about 70

haha, Michael is about 40 years old, not 70!

OH MY GOODNESS I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOGA!!!!!!!!!1!1!1!!one!!!

Now instead of simply kicking the instructor in the family heirlooms i can now join them and study all their secrets and when they least expect i will follow their leader home then kill him with my minigun and steal his amulet of Yoganess. I will then absorb the amulet's powers and become Yoga-man: Destroyer of stiff limbs!

I kind of like the idea of yoga.

Definately love the underwater exploration

and tennis ideas. I just wonder what they are

going to do with yoga to make it interesting in

a game.

Just think about how f*cking ridiculous Yoga is. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT. This is GRAND THEFT AUTO. WHAT USE DOES YOGA SERVE? And what exactly does it "add to the game?" NOTHING. Why would anybody want to waste their time doing f*cking YOGA when you can skydive into a family of bears and fight them with your bare hands?

GRAND THEFT YOGA V! sigh.gif
