Tennis, underwater, YOGA?!

So... you don't really have an idea what they should have made instead of mini games.. and your only suggestion is a mini game?

I never said the minigames should be replaced with other non-minigame stuff - my point was BETTER minigames, as I've said three times now.

I'd still like to hear your ideas, what mini games would be better than tennis? Yoga may seem weird but as I said my guess is it will have a purpose of increasing stamina so why not, the same as running a treadmill in SA.

 

And underwater is not a mini game, it's just an extension of map. We had that in SA but had nothing on the sea floor and now we do.

What mini games would be better? Pretty much everything he posted above - vigilante, taxi, firefighter etc... So many great features are being left out in the name of not fitting the characters.

Sorry, I edited my post above. There are many different mini games which could have been added, but yes, game features also actually.

 

Also, why on earth would any of the characters do yoga in the first place? Michael would probably break his back*, Franklin I simply can't see it, and Trevor, well..

Firefighter

Paramedic

Train Driver

Taxi Driver

Pizzaboy mission from Vice City.

Trucking (people would LOVE trucking through the desert to deliver goods between places)

Crop-dusting (like in the first trailer)

Helicopter tours (bus tours are confirmed, but what about heli tours, like with Brucie in IV?)

Bus driver (not tours, but going around to the stops. I used to RP being a bus driver in Vice City when I was about 8 )

Garbage collection (go around the city emptying dumpsters)

Drug dealing

Firing range

1v1 weapon duels? Sort of like cage fighting in TBoGT but with guns)

Baggage handler at the airport

Farming - combine harvesting and sh*t (hell, people play that 'Farming Simulator' game..)

Coastguard - save stranded people out at sea (on boats or something)

Air rescue - winch people up and take them to hospital (like the paramedic mission but in an air ambulance)

Forest fires - we've seen vast forests in some places, perhaps they could catch on fire and we'd have to use the water-carrying helicopter to douse the flames

Lowrider/dancing missions

Racing - are races confirmed? Probably.

Vehicle export - like in San Andreas and III, a list of 'WANTED' vehicles to be exported

Fishing

Lifeguard - Paramedic on the beach, people on the beach being injured, swimmers drowning etc.

 

There's your list.

 

Admittedly, some of these ideas also seem a bit dull like yoga, but to be honest there's only so much you can do. If anyone has any ideas I'd be interested to hear them.

Video game development takes a long time - especially something like Grand Theft Auto. I personally think MANY man-hours have been wasted on silly stuff like yoga and tennis, which the majority of people are probably going to try once and never again (just like bowling in GTA IV). Wouldn't time be better spent making better things? Since when did GTA become a sports simulator?

 

I'm not so sure about underwater exploration though, as that may be sort of interesting, but still it seems like they've put a LOT of detail under the sea, and to be honest there's only so much time one can spend down there before it gets very boring. Even if there is treasure hunting and sharks.

 

I know I'm going to get hate for this, but I'm simply stating my opinion! Let me know what you think.

 

EDIT: I just realised there was basket ball, pool and possibly other sports in GTA: San Andreas. My point still stands though.

No, GTA has always had mini games, it would be ruined if they only focused on the story. Its a game about free roaming and doing other random thing alongside the story or even without doing the story if you dont want.

I dont. I could be wrong about that I just thought that was common knowledge. But you sort of get my point. Ehh..... Nevermind. Where did i read that?? Maybe that was before we found out about all the customization news a few months back.

I don't think any of you understood my point. Instead of wasting time developing these silly things, they could have been working on other stuff, making the game even better. Nobody's going to complain and say 'wtf rockstar y u no include yoga' are they? Think of the awesome things which could replace them.

The 'awesome things' for some would be the same as 'silly things', and vice-versa. It's different, it's a nice addition, plus you don't know if you actually hate it yet.

Now that's a good list. Vigilante and stuff has always been in there so I'd expect those basic to be back in V. Trucking.. damn I want that. In SA there were a few mission, but real trucking is something I hope for and not cop chases in a truck, I can do that on my own.

 

You have some others that are good too (drug dealing (Scarface style), bus driver, 1 on 1 duels, air rescue and forest fires) a few bad ones.

 

As for racing, I don't see how it can't be in the game, it has vehicle customization and a pro driver in Franklin, it just has to be and much better than IV or SA racing. They really need dedicated AI for races.

 

Fishing is hard to pull of and make it interesting in a game unfortunately and there are some job I don't need in a game like baggage handling, garbage collecting or valet parking from SA.

 

Now here's what I'd add:

A few games as apps on smartphone

Triathlon like in SA

Boxing with good melee and a purpose so it's not the same thing as brawling in the street

Duck hunting (as a spoof of everybody's favorite duck hunting game)

Horse racing (even though I don't think there are horses in the game, it's wishful thinking)

Dog fights (great use for Chop)

Empire building (not a mini game, but a gameplay feature like in VCS)

In all honesty, yoga is a bit of a waste IMO, but I really like the idea of tennis and I DEFINITELY like the underwater exploration.

With that being said, Rockstar wants the minigames to be more in-depth and worth trying out.

The yoga activities will most likely improve your character skills so I have no problem with that bit of context.

Other jobs include submarine tour pilot, tugboat driver pushing ships around the bay, fireboat missions putting out blazes, airtug missions with the Ripley pushing aircraft around the airport...

 

...it'd be cool to be able to hunt sharks and barracudas. I hope animal skinning is in from RDR: people still want animal skins for rugs & coats.

Rockstar are never wasting anything, you however are wasting my time. So many people are like you and want to complain about this serious stuff and want more fun, well there are some that actually are not sheep and have good taste like Rockstar and appreciate and respect their decisions in the game. I for one love just walking around the city and doing activities instead of shooting every thing that moves over and over again every time I play gta so Yes YOGA will be epic along with everything else since GTA V is the best game ever made!

The only time waster is you with this useless thread . I also love how you haven't even played the game , yet you somehow assume that the activities especially underwater are useless . You're one of those people who don't like diversity and keep buying the same sh*tty overhashed COD just to shoot some Doodies .
