Deffpony
IV had alot of issues that really bothered me, but nothing more so than the blur. Not the gray color pallete. I was fine with that. But the first time I played the game I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out why things were so blurry. You seriously cant even make out the features on nikos face

You seriously cant even make out the features on nikos face I like the blur (don't know if the pc blur is different from the console blur) But, in the pc version, you can turn the blur on or off during gameplay by simply pressing a button, which is cool, but I usually keep it on. I hope I'm talking about the same thing as you lol (it's called "Definition" in the game)
RSoha
1) Pigeons (Pathetic way to add gameplay hours) 2) Lack of features (Everything looked nice but you couldn't do much) 3) Everything felt slow and sluggish (the game lagged like hell after a few explosions) Also, Roman didn't call me much
Hugef1
As a massive fan of IV, it's quite hard for me to come up with 3 things that are confirmed NOT to be in. 1) Bowling. Was fun for a few times, but a bit incessant. 2) the crappy mobile phone. 3) Alderney. - Sure bits of it were ok, but it wasn't the best area of the game. But its not a good blur, or an artistic blur. If we are talking about the same thing there is no way you would like it. Sorry for the page stretch. But look at the PS3 version. Its God Aweful Even the beta Niko screens looked clear. Edited June 25, 2013 by deffpony

Here is the pc version with the Definition toggled on (I snapped these pics. Took me a while to find this location lol). And with the definition toggled off: (or is this one on and the other one off?? ) I resized these pics otherwise they wouldve been too big Or should I post the original size? Exactly, agree with you Miami, I can support that. I have the PS3 version of GTA IV and The Complete Edition, and it looks NOTHING like that on my Sony Bravia HDTV with my preferred settings. I don't really go with those online comparisons, because they can be doctored and biased. I've seen both versions of IV and they more or less look the same, minus a few slight differences. In fact, the PS3 version of GTA IV: Complete Edition actually has slightly better and clearer graphics than the original 2008 IV. It was the same with RDR, all these online comparisons claimed the 360 version was grand and that PS3 version looked terrible. That turned out to be a huge lie when I bought the PS3 version and played it for myself, it looked amazing.
Algonquin Assassin
Although one thing cannot be refuted is GTA IV does have blur (it still exists in the 360 version), but from personal experience that PS3 screenshot looks extreme to what I've played. This is actually fixed in the PS3 version of GTA IV: Complete Edition, the background blur is still there, but less severe as it was in the original standalone 2008 version. I aint gonna lie, the background blurriness in the PS3 version of the 2008 copy was quite bad. Other than that, the graphics were great for what they were. Regardless, I did not like the blurry background effect in IV, Rockstar went over the top with it. I hope they don't do this again in GTA V. In some instances, I actually liked the contrast of the sharp, clear closer distance graphics and the blurry graphics in the background, it gave a nice effect. Sometimes it depended on the weather and time of day as to how bad the background blurriness was, at night it did not even exist. Overall the graphics of GTA IV were great on both consoles, for what it was at that time.

I was immediately disappointed by the way everything looked like it was underwater. I would sit further from my tv in an attempt to not be bothered by it. And I'm definitely not a graphics whore. I think it's just that I expected the clarity from the trailers/screenshots.

Try and do it, and tell what if notice a difference.
