Sept17th2013
Hearing as GTA V will have ambient music outside missions, I imagine something like RDR that p.e. you stand there looking at the landscape, and soft music starts, or dynamic missions that are accompained by an accordingly upbeat tone. But I'm kinda worried this could get annoying, I mean, imagine you're just driving along enjoying the game, and the music stands in the middle of it all. You wanna have a quiet cruise (or walk) and the score sort of draws you off from what's around you. You're in a cop chase and it gets loud, encumbering the sounds of the pursuit... I don't know, Rockstar is a master at that so I have sort of a blind faith on they not screwing it up, but it could still happen...
d3ex2
Just turn it off then? People keep making a big f*cking deal about this.
Cutter De Blanc
Yes, it could. Sometimes I just want to stand in the forest and listen to the wind and the river and the birds without a soundtrack indicating to me how I should feel in that particular moment. I figure there will be a slider for the music volume though. So everybody wins.
Supercrammer
You'd barely notice it because the main focus would be on whats going. If anything, the score makes it more interesting. It probably shuts off in the car.
RoadRunner71
Seriously? Music outside the missions? Wtf Rockstar... Will be probably the first thing I turn off...

Input
My question is: Will it conflict with the radio? They said it changes for like chases and stuff, so if I get into a chase and I'm blasting MSX FM, will the radio go off or go into a lower volume for this background musical scroe thing? TheIllaDopest
have you guys ever played RDR? It worked really well. And dont say cuz it was a western theme because it was scored just like a movie and so will V. It will be epic. Or you can turn it down it be bland like IV. I figure there will be a slider for the music volume though. So everybody wins. I think it'll be ok, R* already proved they have a solid idea of how/when to implement it, as demonstrated in RDR. If you didn't play it, I found appropriate music would always softly kick in when you were on a horse. But when you got off and just walked/looked around, most times it would smoothly fade away and stop. Also, they seemed to understand to not overdo it with the ambient music, usually it would just be a few bars here & there. I trust them to bring this same philosophy to GTA V. Teh Edgiest Man on Earth
It will obviously get annoying, it only worked well in RDR and Max Payne 3, this is GTA V for f*cks sakes, citizens screaming, broken bones rattling against the metal of your fender, and gunfires make up for the "blandness", I'd prefer a thousand mores to hear radios from local houses or stores playing than an ~original score so deep~ looping the f*ck up always breaking the immersion. I am fine with this if it's optional.
Sept17th2013
You obviously have not played or did not enjoy Red dead, La noire, and max payne 3 I loved it in RDR & LAN, but GTA V is a different game.
EvilFuture
It might get annoying after a while, just like it did on RDR. I turned it off months ago and still haven't turned it back on. I like the sound effects more, makes the city feel more alive. It just BETTER be optional
PHOENIXZERO
Of course it won't conflict with the radio. It'll probably be muted while driving with the radio playing.

Sept17th2013
Sometimes I wished that Gta IV had a score. It would kinda fit in IV. Or maybe it's just that I imagine playing it now with that feature and it'd make the game fresher.

IveGotNoValues
I guess im one of the few who will actually appreciate this. I feel like it will flow naturally like in RDR. When in the forest, your just walking alone in silence, and then a nice relaxing song begins to play and really sets the vibe of the wilderness. Maybe at night the forest song becomes erie and freaks you out, making you think someone is following you. Music can really change an enviroment for the better and add immersion, instead of just plain silence, well at least in my opinion
dooshtoomun
I'll try it for a bit, and if it gets annoying or if the music turns out to be sh*t, I'll just turn it off. Well, if R* puts in an option to do so, that is...
