A Nickname For All
Thinking of James Gandolfini's terrible death and Tony Soprano's clear influence on Michael's character, I wonder if in addition to all the similarities he carries with him, he could also be of Italian descendants like Tony, or simply American? What are your thoughts?

VLongo92
James was one hell of an actor, I honestly feel the same way. Michael might have had something going in Alderney around the area of IV.
GR7
I think he's either Italian American or Irish American since Micheal's character seems to be a blend of Tony Soprano and Neil Mccauley. I'm leaning towards Irish because of James hair colour

Miami-Florida.
I expect Michael to be Italian-American and have a Italian surname like Michael Antonelli for example. The Irish played quite a big role in IV so i hope he is Italian. People probably wouldn't care much, but my grandparents on my Mom's side of the Family came from Naples. P.S So sad to hear about James Galdolfini's death . We lost a legend actor. #R.I.P Edited June 20, 2013 by Miami-Florida.

I've always thought there was a connection somehow, would be cool if he was cousins with the Mcreary's in LC, Packie would probably feel right at home with Michael since we know him and his brothers also like to pull off heists. They also mentioned that the mission three leaf clover was one of the main inspirations for the heist theme of GTAV, what if they brought more than just the heist style missions over from three leaf clover? maybe a continuation of the Mcreary storyline and where Packie is and what he is doing currently. Remember when Packie said in three leaf clover? "Ireland aint the only thing that's green Dollars are too" now look at the GTAV logo and say that quote in reverse. GTA-King
Interesting thoughts, Gregers. There has to be a reason R* showed Packie leaving at the end of TBoGT. Maybe he got a lead on Michael's location, and he's coming to kill him? Just speculating. It's our only power.

Teh Edgiest Man on Earth
Michael has a 9.99% of Irish-american decency, 68.2% of being blood with the McReary brotherhood, and 0.00% of being Italian, I mean, sure, he is based on Tony Soprano (R.I.P), but there is no point on him being italian, did Tony Soprano rob banks on his free time? No, did Neil McCauley (Irish) rob banks? Yes, if this game is based around Heat, I think its a perfect combo, I like Rockstar's creativeness.
