OP WHAT DO YOU WANT?

 

First answer that question and be specific, don't say new things as you will get new things.

 

Different countries? Land is the same in all countries, yes they could go arctic for a real difference, but apart from that it's pretty much the same. Apart from landmarks, it wouldn't matter if it's set in LA, London, Paris or Tokyo, it's just a city.

 

Different weapons? They already have most of conventional and some unconventional weapons. Again, there isn't anything really special that they could do. M 16, AK 47 and dozens of similar rifles.. they all feel pretty much the same, regardless of how many specific types they would include. The same goes for pistols, shotguns etc..

 

Different cars? You get every possible type of vehicle each with unique handling for a different feel. What more could you want. All they can do is add more of the same, more sports cars, more limos, more SUVs etc..

 

Different peds? What more can they add, again they got them all, from poor beggars to rich superstars and everything in between, again, they can only add more different models.

 

And this goes for everything you mentioned. So yes, Rockstar is practically doing the same game over and over. But WHO ISN'T. It's all been done, we know what GTA is and it can't bring in anything special and new without going into science fiction territory (flying cars, laser guns, alien peds etc) and GTA isn't about that. You'll get more of the same and refined gameplay with a new story and a lot of new stuff. That's it.

 

What you really need is to go play some games that are different genre from GTA. Play Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, something that is different by definition.

 

As for GTA, it will always be what it is, the only way to make significant changes to it is by going into different time periods and that's why there is RDR, it is basically GTA but completely different due to being set in wild west. A game named GTA however can only be set either in the last 100 years since the car industry developed (due to it's name obviously) and go into future. But I don't think they want to risk by going into future (don't say GTA2) as they depend on making parody of existing world and that would be harder if they went too far into the future.

Remember OP, whos mental health is questionable, This is Rockstar, Who make great games that everyone loves, They always get amazing ratings and in most cases GOTY, The series is by no means being milked at all. Just as others said, if it were being milked, We'd either A) See annual releases OR B) Assloads upon Assloads of DLC.

 

GTA V is going to be the greatest thing to happen this Gen. Relax.

You sound like you come from a third world country yourself. Either that or you're mentally disabled. None of the points you are making are relevant or even make sense for that matter. People around the world know the US as purely America as its an easy term to adapt just like England or Scotland would be generalised as Britain or the UK. It doesn't take a fcking rocket scientist to figure out Canada, Central America and South America are part of the Americas but no one says that.

Adding to that, GTA would be terrible in a different Country. The only possible place would be London and even that just wouldn't be interesting enough. Speaking from a Londoner by the way. Gta has always and will always be about American pop culture. There is a reason coca cola is sold in every country on the planet except Korea. Theres a reason Microsoft distributes its PCs on every continent, there's a reason Hollywood is the largest film and television center in the world. Everyone knows of them.

To say GTA is the same thing every game is kind of off. Yes the core of the game is the same, but the fundementals around that core change drastically from title to title.

 

III= City Sandbox

VC= Empire building/80's vibe

SA= RPG Elements/Mini Games Gallore

IV= Most detailed city in a game/social upgrades

V= Multi Protags/Monetary Motivation

 

Unlike COD/AC/Madden/Halo, GTA doesnt just add a new map, 2 features, and better graphics and say here you go. They actually shake things up, and for what its worth, alot of the things fans didnt like about IV were bold steps that most developers wouldnt have the guts to take.

 

 

 

If you think V will be boring and the same old sh*t, then buy it, play it, and judge for yourself. But to wait to hear what every other person says about the game before getting it makes you seem like some sort of mindless sheep.

Yeah, as much as I would like Rockstar North to make a game set in the UK (or more specifically London), an HD GTA London just wouldn't really work (also saying this as someone who lives 30 mins from London). So the best I could hope for is maybe Agent being set on both sides of the pond. Hopefully we'll finally get 'The Getaway 3' from Sony next-gen.

It is the same thing with every gta that rockstar happens to churn out, you don't get a completly new terrain, you just get an area already used before in the games, You get a couple guns nothing new, the same old pedestrians, same old cars, same old missions, and same old sandbox gameplay. I mean i honestly think rockstar doesn't care about gta they just want to milk the genre as much as they can while it lasts. As for me, I won't be waiting in line anxioulsy waiting for a game because i already know what to expect from it. I'll wait till i see some reviews, some gameplay, some youtube videos of missions, and maybe a price drop too. Untill then I won't be pulled in by their gimmicks. Who else is going to wait it out and see how the game does. I mean its absolutely possible that gta 5 will suck and a lot of disappointed people will be ripping their hair out.

Every new GTA will always be improved or upgraded in some kind of way, but GTA is always gonna have the core and essential elements that traditionally make it GTA, that is not going to change and that is also the reason why many of us are fans of the series in the first place. If you have had enough of GTA, and are no longer interested in it, then I ask what the f**k are you doing here discussing it ?

 

If you want a game like GTA that wants to be '"different" or "more exciting", then play Saints Row 3 and 4. You got spaceships, flying cars, UFOs, rockets, laser guns, guitars that fire magical bolts, everything exciting that GTA does not have. You don't need to be here talking sh*t about GTA.

 

And NO, GTA will not work being set in another country. This has been discussed countless times on here already, I'm not gonna go into it. But it is clear to see that GTA is suited to be set in the USA only, for a huge number of good reasons. The only other place GTA could possibly work is in London in the UK, due to similarities with Western culture and English language being spoken, but as a native Londoner myself, I just don't think London would be that much interesting or as exciting as a major U.S. location for GTA.

 

You are not impressed by GTA V ? Here is some advice. 1) Get the f**k outta this forum. 2) Don't buy the game. 3) Go and play SR3 or 4.
