Mr.Paper Posted June 20, 2013 Share Posted June 20, 2013 It is the same thing with every gta that rockstar happens to churn out, you don't get a completly new terrain, you just get an area already used before in the games, You get a couple guns nothing new, the same old pedestrians, same old cars, same old missions, and same old sandbox gameplay. I mean i honestly think rockstar doesn't care about gta they just want to milk the genre as much as they can while it lasts. As for me, I won't be waiting in line anxioulsy waiting for a game because i already know what to expect from it. I'll wait till i see some reviews, some gameplay, some youtube videos of missions, and maybe a price drop too. Untill then I won't be pulled in by their gimmicks. Who else is going to wait it out and see how the game does. I mean its absolutely possible that gta 5 will suck and a lot of disappointed people will be ripping their hair out. I'm just saying, out of all the gta i have played, it's always the same concept, i mean when are we going to see different countries? Different weapons, i mean i think they have only come up with a couple of new stuff over the years since gta 3 but nothing too impressive. I care for gta, its just that i feel that gta 5 will just be the same thing as always just a shiny new coat with a couple of changes here and there. Ok look at it this way, you know how a book sometimes gets revised for a new edition every now and then? And the book is still the same except for a couple of paragraphs? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trolling and am a HUGE Rockstar fan, but Grand Theft Auto V is the combination of every past Grand Theft Auto game all put into one updated game. Personally, I will have faith in Rockstar when they announce the next Grand Theft Auto, but I will understand why people will be pessimistic about it; they will think Rockstar are in new grounds and have to do a lot to make a "fresh" and "new" Grand Theft Auto. Just like NY in III doesn't look like NY in IV. -How do you get the same pedestrians? In terms of models, they are new each time, and with IV they are now also HD. In terms of AI they have also come a long way. -Same old cars? It's true that you get the same real life replica cars, but they drive and behave completely different with each new game. Have you tried driving a van in III and one in IV? Only the names are similar. -I'm going to agree that they do reuse a lot of mission types, but they are pretty much the universal mission types used in most games on the market. Ex: drive there, kill that. How do they not care about GTA? Have you even played the ps2 era games and IV? Do you find them remotely similar? Also, how are they milking it? It's a parody of American culture, you take that into say, Russia, R* won't have the correct humour to put in it, most of us wouldn't get the humour.
