Travís.
Anyone who's been on the forums since before the release of GTA IV can you please tell me if heaps of people stopped using the forums when it was released? Did the forums become a ghost town? Just curious c:
lil weasel
Absolutely not. More join to get tips on how to play, what the cheats are, solving problems with missions, et cetera.
GroundZero
I made a topic in the GTA V section a while ago about this, and it seems that there isn't much of a difference, as even though many people are not around here during the release to avoid spoilers, many others are present to share thoughts about the game and maybe bring some spoilers. Travís.
Absolutely not.More join to get tips on how to play, what the cheats are, solving problems with missions, et cetera. Ah True, but yeah I wont be on here after the release until I finish V, don't want to see any spoilers
trip
It is possible to hang here after release and not have stuff spoiled. I'm one of those PC people that have to wait out the PC release lag and when IV came out I was here just as much as now and managed to not have anything spoiled. TECHN9CiAN
When a new game comes out, the forums will remain crowded for a month or two, then the population will decline by 1/3 (rough estimate) and slowly decrease. The only members that will remain constant visitors are PC gamers talking about game mods and complaining about how they were given a sh*tty port and have to wait an extra year to play that said sh*tty port. At least thats what ive noticed.

GrandMaster Smith
The only times I really become active in here is when a new GTA comes around. This forum's probably the one I use least as far as actual forumming goes, for as large it is it really isn't all that active or interesting. Once V drops I probably won't come around as much since I usually just come for V news.
Nlwt
When GTA IV came out, I visited the forums about the same as I do now but I tended to visit the GTA IV section more than the Gen Chat, Sports Discussion etc..

I'm not sure the activity drops off - I think it just spreads out past the current game area. You know stuff like people no longer posting in V forums and moving their posting activities to some of the other fun sub forums. EvilFuture
I'm sure some people will leave for a while, but they will be back. It will be crowded the first week or so after GTA V releases. I probably won't be on as much, but I won't leave.
NCONiall
Don't worry, I've already seen some GTA VI threads and I'm sure there will be many where is the blue type threads to come. Heck, maybe even deepthroat will come back. Those threads were always active. Edited June 20, 2013 by NCONiall

Jaypricemann
For the longest time, the most members online was in the 1500s from when GTA:SA was released for PC. I miss those days.
TEoS
GTAForums was dominated by non-fanatics for many years, back in the day when Gen chat was close to the top of the forum list. Being a great member had more to do with how funny you were than how much you speculated whether or not Tommy Vercetti was going to have a jetpack. Unfortunately, it ultimately became a dick waving contest and good order and discipline fell by the wayside. New members were ostracized just for being new, and the old school members thought they were above the law. It was certainly more interesting, dramatic times, if not all that great for forum membership and support from R* itself. Good times. Gen chat was certainly a lot more interesting. Fireman
I haven't been interested in GTA V at all (the idea of several protagonists seems like a fail move), so I'm not going to come on more (or less) after the release of V. However by the time it releases it's also the end of the summer, so more people will have to go do something with their lives.

K20
totally avoid like the plague the GTA V section. until i finished the game. cause i know some punk will put "##### dies at the end" as a topic title. but i'll visit the other areas in the mean time. then visit V section to look for stuff i missed / hidden stuff. etc... the fun parts. Chase177
Once the game releases I'll still visit the forums, but I'll be staying away from the V section for about a month.
ExtremoMania
Not actually, the V section is full of retards and some newbies just keep trolling around. Others joined not to troll, but to deeply understand about helping with some problems regarding about GTA, and other things you can do.
RomansMoobs
I dunno, after I get 5 I might just peace out until I hear some DLC talk, then I'll pop in and out from time to time.
LittleBlueTroll
This is the only forum i use, so unless the place ever shut down i will always be around. People say its not as active as other forums, which might be true, but i find the pace here perfect. You can keep tabs on all your replies and debates without it getting lost in a shuffle of 100 other user posts. Plus i like the community feel here, if you are an active member you can name a lot of the other regular users here because you see them everyday. Some forums I've seen there is a tonne of users, and you would have next to no chance of learning who's who. Plus other forums have no sig size rules, karma systems and user points systems that are useless. I find it well rounded here. And another big bonus, the place isn't spammed with advertizing banners. So basically, GTA V can come and go, but i will remain active on this forum.
epicluca
I sure as hell won't be leaving, I can't play V 24/7 and I like to come on GTAF in my spare time, so in fact i'll probably be on it more for general V discussion and rumours.
trip
but i find the pace here perfect. Exactly! It moves just fast enough. The pace here is perfect. I've thought about that aspect many times. Algonquin Assassin
The GTA IV forum was pretty chaotic in the weeks after it released. If anything I think it'll be more active. A combination of members excited and wanting to share their excitement and trolls bashing the game in every way possible.
Andreas
If anything I think it'll be more active. Yeah, I think so too. The day GTAV releases will be even more chaotic than the average day or the days when new info is coming out. The forum will be most likely highly active for some time then, and everything will calm down as time goes.
