BullworthAcademy
NOTE: ANNOUNCEMENT, NOT A NEW TRAILER. OFFICIAL TWEET: https://mobile.twitter.com/farrellybros/sta...9876737/photo/1 DETAILS: Peter announced an online contest: Send a Vine video to @farrellybros with the hashtag #DumbTo with their most entertaining Dumb and Dumber reference and they will choose a winner to be in the movie and say a line in the movie. Confirmed to return for the sequel includes: Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, and even Harland Williams who played the pee-drinking cop in the first film. Farrelly said that blind kid will return in the movie as a man, but this might have been a joke. The movie takes place in Rhode Island, but they plan to shoot the film in Atlanta Georgia for the state’s tax breaks. They hope to start shooting in August 2013. “As we speak I have guys on the ground [working] in Atlanta” Georgia’s tax breaks are 30% while Massachusetts tax breaks are 25%. Peter gave the example that a a $50 million movie will cost $34 million in Atlanta. The earlier report had claimed the budget would be in the low $30 millions, likely after tax breaks. Dumb and Dumber To will be released Summer 2014: “It will be exactly 20 years when it comes out,” said Farrelly. The original film was released on December 16th 1994. The Dumb And Dumber sequel is back on again. The sequel, officially titled Dumb And Dumber To, has been in the works since April 2012. However, original backers Warners Bros passed on the project last week (June 11), forcing the Farrelly Brothers to shop it around to new film studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, shooting could now take place this summer for a 2014 release: the 20th anniversary of the original film. Both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are on board to reprise their roles. Written and directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly, the original Dumb And Dumber came out in 1994 and starred Carrey and Daniels as dimwitted friends on a road trip. A prequel called Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd followed in 2003, but it did not feature the original stars or any involvement from the Farrelly Brothers. darthYENIK
The Farrelly Brothers haven't exactly been amazing the past few years. I hope they can get their groove back by going back to their roots.
BullworthAcademy
During his chatshow appearance, Jeff Daniels confirmed that Dumb And Dumber To will be released in 2014: the 20th anniversary of the original film, it will start filming in September. "I've seen the script, it's hysterical. We're middle-aged, we're not pretending we aren't. We're middle-aged and we're still that stupid," he added. NYC PATROL
Jim Carrey needs this. It could definitely rejuvenate his comedic career if the film is just as good or better than the first. (Which is unlikely but hey hope for the best)

BullworthAcademy
FILMING STARTING IN SEPTEMBER! The filmmakers have announced a contest for a walk-on role in Dumb and Dumber To, which is expected to shoot this fall. Here’s how to enter: Alright, here are the contest rules for Winning A Walk-On On Dumb & Dumber To! First, make a Vine re-creating a scene from the original Dumb & Dumber, but put your own spin on it. Use the hashtag #DumbTo so we can see them all. (Yeah yeah, I know what a “hashtag” is…now) You have until September 15, 2013 to post. After September 15, Bobby and I will pick the winner. The winner and a friend gets to be a walk-on on the film. Good luck!
Chukkles
The Farrelly Brothers haven't exactly been amazing the past few years. I hope they can get their groove back by going back to their roots. I think me my self and irene was their last good one. Stuck on you was abysmal.
darthYENIK
I loved Stuck on You. Shallow Hal was pretty funny, as well. But they just don't have the same "omph", that Me, Myself, and Irene, Dumb and Dumber, or There's Something about Mary.

Ilikehotcrossbuns
Making a sequel to a movie about immature 20 year olds when you're now pushing 50 is pretty sad. It's even sadder that it happens to be the sequel one of your most famous films and your career happens to be disappearing.
GunWrath
The Farrelly Brothers haven't exactly been amazing the past few years. I hope they can get their groove back by going back to their roots. Agreed. I think the duo coming back could either be a knockout or a complete failure.. I hope it's a knockout though, I've missed the original and the Dumb & Dumberer was just an embarrassment. But not to mention Farrelly brothers movies lately, I hope they bring back their roots as well.

TonyMontanaCDL
This is classic Hollywood. Completely out of ideas, so let's make an unneeded sequel or prequel to something 10+ years old. Throw it at the sheep and count the money as it bombs in the box office.

G_Unit_G_Unit
Jeff Daniels is definetly in the shadow of Jim Carrey. Dumber and dumber was just so much Jim Carrey tour de force.
Moonshield
Yeah, it's too bad Jeff Daniels has been left unrecognized by his peers. Not like he's done anything notable since this anyway. darthYENIK
Kyle_Voakes
Let's hope this still works with my whole "Lloyd Christmas isn't stupid" theory. The guy's the devil! Everything he does is at Harry's expense. I don't think an idiot could scheme sabotaging his best friend's bowels in order to ruin his love life (a second time). Bigs
I loved the original, but must admit I'm pretty skeptical about this sequel... I hope they can pull off something funny and nostalgic yet also fresh and new. I agree with the poster who said that Hollywood has no new ideas and that they just put out movies with familiar titles to draw in cash but, don't get me wrong, I do look forward to this and I'll give it a fair and honest view when it drops. Carmen!
How do you all feel about this? Excited to see it? Or rather disappointed? I personally feel a little disappointed. I know Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are getting older and all, but the jokes in this trailer kinda foreshadow a popular cliche style of whack comedy. I loved the original. The second one, When Harry Met Lloyd was a major flop IMO. But after a decade or so, they've decided to come back. MOD EDIT: Merged your topic with the old one, because you had the trailer. Next time, make sure there isn't another topic, by using the search feature. Edited June 11, 2014 by darthYENIK
darthYENIK
I'm a huge fan of the original, but this trailer, just doesn't feel like the same thing. It seems far too slapsticky. Not to say the first movie wasn't slapsticky, just not this slapsticky. More importantly, the original felt like these guys were two cartoon characters, in the real world. This trailer makes it feel like the world is more cartoony this time around. We'll see. But right now, I'm not too optimistic. Adriaan
milkmansun
I think the trailer is not that bad, may be the cinematography is what lacking here, i think they went for low budget on that.. other than that. this looks funny, not promising but still funny... As a good bye to dumb and dumber is good enough...

GunWrath
I don't know man, you can't one up the original D&D.. and this looks like some of those Farrelly flops. Which is sad especially when you have those two together.. too bad. Probably end up watching it way down the road but def not wasting money to go see it. Adriaan
Probably just gonna end in the same pile as Godfather Part III or A Good Day to Die Hard if you know what I mean. Edited June 12, 2014 by Adriaan
Xerukal
What I really enjoyed in the original is all the moments where they actually almost managed to make an informed or smart decision, and just as they're about to make said decision, they do a complete turn for the f*cking stupid again. Just those parts where you're like "Will they finally get it right?!" and when they don't, you're reminded of the title of the movie. I really hope they expand on this type of joke and take it to extremes while being careful not to overuse it. The elaborate and frighteningly thought-out ways in which the duo f*cks up and keeps f*cking up until this gargantuan mountain of f*ck-ups builds up is just fascinating. The last scene in the original with the bus full of chicks. I wanted to punch someone so badly. Slapstick can sometimes break movies, though. So I really hope there's not too much of it in this one.
