What drugs would you like to see in game?

Drugs I want, and what effects they should have:

Weed: Makes things a tiny bit slower, NCP`s voices are not heard as good as usual, everything seems more relaxed and peaceful, and our character will move slower.

Ecstasy: Makes things faster, your character moves faster, the sound of heart beating is hear, everything is more intense, things get a little blurry.

Magic Shrooms: Makes you get relaxed and see all kinds of sh*t.

LSD: The same as Shrooms, just crazier.

Cocaine: Your character loses health slower and damage doesn`t effect him as much as it usually would, things get unclear, intense, and your character shakes and generally acts rougher than usual.

realisticly looking we should have drugs, that dont turn protagonist into total junkie, like crack or even heroin...

so my list - molly/xtasy, cocaine, meth (since Trevor is on that), obviously weed...

I always found it slightly disappointing that Niko never caught the vapours when Little Jacob was hotboxing the car.

That said, what's the point in simulating the effects of drugs? Where's the fun in that? Real drugs are readily available and much, much more fun than a slightly blurry, slightly over-saturated effect on the screen.

For example, the weed burning mission in San An and the weed burning mission in Far Cry 3. Yeah. Great. Now I'm just macking for doober in the realsies.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

I rather not do that sh*t in real life, i don't even smoke . Now if it's in a game , it's another story.

I don't understand your motivation to want to pretend to be a super bad ass pothead in a video game.

Why not be a real one and experience all the joys of eating cereal in your underwear? Are you afraid that you might enjoy it and have to hock all your games to buy more?

I'm neither condoning nor damning the use if drugs. I've used drugs. They're fun. But pretending to be on them is really dumb.

Genuine question:

Why is it a different story? I'm really intrigued by this. Is it something about living vicariously through video games and experiencing things that you're not going to do in real life? Because you're still not actually experiencing them.

So yeah - what's that all about?

Signatures are dumb anyway.

To me, look at it more like RolePlaying and feeling like you're actually in that certain place, in Los Santos, that you're that dangerous character, doing whatever you're doing.

However, you're like saying why fly helis in a video game when you can fly it in real life ...

It depends on why you're doing it I guess.

I'm really not.

I'm asking what's so fascinating about being on drugs in a game, and why it's something you wouldn't want to experience in real life.

In my case, I've had those experiences as I wanted to explore what a chemical can do to my mind and body. I really can't understand how it can be appealing to get a really, really half-arsed interpretation of it.

Well that's like saying "Whats the point in driving a car in GTA, when you can drive one in real life? Oh, you're only 15? Well stop driving a car in GTA, and get one in real life. It's a lot more fun and you get a hands-on experience."

Having usable drugs in GTA would be a first for the 3D GTA world. Which a lot of players wanted since San Andreas. It ADDS to the realism that you, the character are living in a breathing environment known as Los Santos, San Andreas. The point of the GTA franchise, is there's always a GREAT story behind the mayhem. Which you can't even get that in real life...unless you're crazy. I've done drugs, and trust me when i tell you. In today's world, being 3 years sober....i'd rather just do them in a video game. moto_whistle.gif

yeah breh you should try killing people IRL sometimes you won't believe how amazing you'll feel, very euphoric during peak (when the murder occurs) and very relaxing comedown

Pop over into the torture thread. You'll see that I'm quite against that.

But really, I don't understand the thrill of getting high in a game.

lol.gif This. So much this. Signature material. But I have to say. Even though in my heart I know it wasn't real, seeing all that bud destroyed in both of these games brought a small, sympathetic stoner tear to my eye. Nice one brother.

It's not so much the thrill, because be honest. Who gets a "thrill" in doing drugs in a video game? I'm pretty sure it's "Hey...if this random NPC can do it, why can't i?" type of deal. We as a character want to be a part of that world. Like, when peds get to sit down on park benches, and we're over here crouching, looking like we're either (A. Taking a sh*t, or (B. Giving a BJ to the guy actually sitting on the bench. Now, i could care less if we can or can't do drugs in a video game. Would it add a nice touch, considering todays modern "California"? With the marijuana, sure it would. I honestly do not care if usable drugs are in, or out. Would i prefer them to be in? You betcha. Would i like to see realistic handling on the cars? Yup. Would i like to make millions upon millions of dollars like i could in Vice City and SA? Damn straight. Regardless if you can or cannot sell drugs, make drugs, do drugs; I will be purchasing this game at the midnight release regardless.

/rant, sorta.

if its a satirical take on drug use I think its cool.... drugs are a big part of the SoCal criminal scene

Most of the protags in GTA are criminals whether they do drugs are not... they are affiliated with them in some way

Trevor in a big way.

*wishlist moment* It would be cool if there was a random character encounter meeting a guy on a spiritual quest in the desert taking some peyote....you wack out and have a beavis moment

the drinking option in GTAiv was cool a few times and as mentioned above cool for RP

if there are any drugs hopefully Rockstar will apply their witty approach

I wonder how they will handle this. Trevor may not be a user though?

Id like to see some junkies shooting up and them watching them be all f*cked.

I doubt drugs will be in the game, but yea, weed wouldn't have any visual effects, but psychedelics would.

Xylazine, a horse tranqualizer.

Just watched a NG document about Puerto Rican junks who use this. Turns man into a walking dead.

There´s your zombie mod.

I'm all for having lots of variety of drugs in the game for the economic side of things. The physical/mental effects that they have on the character would be cool but I'm not fussed about them to be honest. The only effect I would really like would be the GTA III 'speed' (slow down time) effect. That was awesome. But it seems like we have got this in the form of Michael and Franklins' special moves. Maybe Trevors will do the same but for melee.

Mister Pink

DMT, LSD, heroin, crack, crystal meth.

Would love to see peds visibly out of their heads on these drugs be it at a campfire in the woods or homeless people on meth.

I think that is realistic enough.

Algonquin Assassin

This reminds me of the other night while watching Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay and Neil Patrick Harris is eating a bag of shrooms and he starts tripping balls seeing himself on a unicorn.

I think affects like that would be hilarious.
