How has X1's reversal changed your perspective?

I was gonna get the xbox one anyway , but only because forza , other then that I don't really care about any of the other exclusives at launch or even a year after launch lol . The price in Aus is only $50 difference and you can't even buy a game with $50 here .Kinnect allways on , well that's no issue because when I need to do something private like change clothes or have a wank , i'll just make sure the xbox aint plugged in .originally i'm a playstation fan , I've owned them from the first one ,I have owned a first gen ps2 and ps3 ,but only bought the 360 for forza one holiday, because I was bored lol and I didn't plan on owning any other games on it except forza ,hey have I mentioned forza yet ? anyways due to the ps3 getting the ylod the 360 became my main console and that's when I realised I like both consoles now , anyways cool story bro I know ,but I won't buy any console at launch now , because i'm a jobless bum at the moment ,but when I do get a job it'll be xb1 first then a ps4 when a lot more games come out .

Well PS4 still is better. Cheaper and better hardware. I have a right to criticize people's opinion. You have one too. If you post a comment on here there will always be someone who criticizes it. I never said you don't have the right, but why not respect someone's decision? Lets say that someone tells me that they are gonna buy the new COD, but I like BF4 better. I am not going to say "Wow you are a retard, everyone knows BF is better."

 

The "real" gamers are on the PC, and from your perspective it seems that anyone that is not on a PS is a retard nerd.

Everyone knows PS is my favorite. I hate the PC elitist and I show them 0 respect. I do respect pc gamers. I also respect both 360 and Nintendo gamers. I would play Nintendo products more but they got hardly any AAA titles. 360 had some great games. Same with PC.

 

We all know PC is the best. But PC isn't a console. So why compare a console to a computer? I just want to know why someone would spend $100 more plus $10 more online for a console that almost took your rights away? It isn't smart to support someone who tried to take your rights away and is in control in what ever you do. If PS4 did that I wouldn't support Sony but they didn't do this. Microsoft already hurt themselves and will fall behind this console to Sony.

Anyway, as a user of 360, I'm open-minded about having an X1 again. Although I was excited about using a PS4, I don' like their controller. As for exclusives, I'm not really an exclusives man. Most of the time they never really appeal to me. Depends on where I'm at when the console comes out. Do I want a media centre? Not really, I have my Mac and all my other gadgets.

I'm still going with the PS4 this time (I currently have an XBox 360). While it's great that MS have changed their policy, they don't have the games that Sony can provide. The XBox One has an attractive launch line up but that's just a one off investment to get people on the hook. After the first year or so, when all the third party devs go back to making multi-format games, the XBox One will have little in the way of exclusives to offer besides Halo and Forza.

 

I'll be totally honest though. Given this turn of events, had Remedy announced Alan Wake 2 and not Quantum Break, I'd be going for the XBox One.

The PS4 has the same support as the PS3. If you live in a country that has an online store then it works flawless, if you don't you could have a problem. But since that's already the case now I don't see how anything changes.

I'm still jumping from my 360 to the PS4. As far as I'm concerned the damage has already been done. The damage done by Don Mattrick and co has been so severe that it will take more than a few policy adjustments to encourage me to stick with the Microsoft brand, and at this point in time regarding the next-gen Sony offer me more, as a gamer, than MSFT are doing.

 

The whole XBONE debacle has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

 

So I've voted "Opinion unchanged; still buying PS4".

 

There would have to be a huge price cut for me to even consider the XBONE at this moment in time.

This makes the Xbox One-Eighty more appealing than before. As I might get one in the future if an exclusive game or feature entices me.

 

However, my only two issues was the online requirement and the forced kinect. One of which still stands.

 

What they are hoping for is that everyone is force fed the kinect, as to standardize the device so more developers take it seriously and develop with it in mind.

 

This is a bad thing, because other than for fitness training a kinect has NO PLACE in gaming. I will NEVER in my entire life unless the loss of multiple limbs will NEVER use one.

 

If it is standardized it is then up to the developers of games if they want to let you turn off the options for it or not, and I refuse to buy into something like that.

 

 

The PS4 is more powerful, is cheaper, has now and in the future more exclusives, games can be self published and you can upgrade the hard drive. Plus some free to play games without the need for PS+.

 

I think I will stick with a PS4 for a while. At least till I hear how the Xbox is and if there is any exclusives. Currently none.

 

I hope everyone agrees despite this, the PS4 and Sony deserve to win the console war this time.

Well the PS3 total sales exceeded the Xbox 360 sales, something that seemed impossible at first happened. I think BluRay and an aggressive price politics by Sony in the past years helped that a lot, it looks like Kinect might not be that "killer" feature that Microsoft hoped it would be. The Xbox One would be much more interesting without the need of Kinect, not to mention that the additional hardware also means that the failure rate could be higher in the end, because with a broken Kinect you might not be able to use the Xbox One anymore (remember, Kinect has to be connected for the Xbox One to work).

 

If they would remove the Kinect and sell the system for the same price as the PS4 then they might have a chance, but like I stated in the other Xbox One thread I don't agree with Microsofts politics, so the Xbox One is a no-go for me until Microsoft gets rid of MANY people....

I was never a fan of Microsoft and Xbox is the only MS product I own. My computers and phones are Apple. However, I certainly see where you come from. But I'm just thinking about the entertainment experience. I can forget about Microsoft in that capacity. And you are right, they can earn some dollars and at least appear like they are giving something to the fans. Sony did this really well. All that aside though.. I want to try figure out what technology I want first.

 

My Xbox is my switching off time. My escapism from the daily grind. All things MS aside, I'm just trying to see which console will give me the best experience. I'm really swayed on the controller. Having grown up on PS1 and PS2 controller when I tried the Xbox one, it felt too big but more ergonomic. Then when the 360 came out, the controller was just perfect. They made it smaller and even more ergonomic. It fills my hands in ways the PS controller doesn't and prevents me from getting hand cramps.

 

I'll probably get both. Fortunately I've got a job and it wont be too difficult. It's more of a case of which one to get first. Also, I have all my Gamertag stats built up and although they mean jack sh*t, I like looking through all the games I've had and payed through. With PS, I'll have to start again.

 

Originally, I said I'd go with the console that targets the gamer. So PS4 wins there. But for familiarity and controller Xbox is there for me.

Personally, I'm still a little put off by the Kinect being able to monitor my heart beat and audibly record persons in the room (MS's participation with PRISM doesn't help ease those fears). Nevermind owning one, but I'll still feel uncomfortable being in the same room as one!

I don't care about the console war, but I agree that the PS4 is the more attractive option. I too do not care about the Kinect and I don't want one. It's a useless gimmick. PS4 is still a more powerful and less expensive console, and Sony usually has better exclusives. I just don't care about Gears of Halo. And as a matter of fact, I don't even know where I'd put the Xbone. The thing is absolutely enormous.
