mattfab Posted June 19, 2013 Share Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) I know some of you might hate on me for saying this, but I think the delay was actually a good thing, for several reasons. If gta v wasn't delayed, it would have probably been out for about a month already. Therefore, a lot of us probably already would have completed the story, driven most or all of the vehicles, seen most of the map, etc. We would have nothing to look forward to, except the summer. But in about 2 months from now, summer will be almost over, and a lot of people will have to start going back to school, and that's nothing to look forward to. BUT Since the game was delayed, atm we know almost nothing about multiplayer, we have no gameplay, a few trailers, and still more info to come. And right now we have the summer to look forward to, (even tho most of us will still be working), and when summer is almost over, we will all have something great to look forward to, which is gta v. The reason I posted this wasn't to troll or get people mad, and I know this isn't anything you don't already know, but I know some of you are still unhappy about the delay, and I was too, but if you think about it like this, it just shows that we all have something to look forward to, and the delay wasn't necessarily a bad thing at all. Am I understanding this right? On the gaming side of things I've quite a few games I'm looking forward to so had GTA V been out now it would have been fine by me as towards the end of the year a lot of games I want are coming out and it would have gave me a lot more time with GTA V. Your reasoning states that it would be better for us to never play the game, since the anticipation is better than having completed the story or actually driven the cars or actually explored the map, right? So to reiterate my point, you're missing the point of why some think the delay is good. It's because it will create a better game, not 'aw damn we played the game'. Hopefully next time they think before when they are planned to do something with GTA VI. I am only happy they delayed the game because now we can buy properties, cars and much more. GTA V is out and your sorted... instead of reading it properly and taking the positive, you are basically calling him a sad c**t with nothing going on in his life. So to answer the question no you're not answering it right... My questions were rhetorical questions. I read the post right and it's not my problem if that's the way the post comes across. As I said in my post after the summer there is a lot going on with or without GTA V. If the OP has nothing going on in his life after the summer and only has GTA V to keep his "high" going then that's his call. The OP doesn't seem positive at all. It just seems like a condescending way of trying to force his opinion on others. If people want to be salty about a delay that's there choice. The way I see it it's like they said, delayed it to give us the best possible GTA they could. Who knows how many more goodies and how much better the game will look and play because of the delay. If you took spring 2013 as a release date then yeah... it was delayed ? When they said "spring 2013" to me that meant... yeah its not ready yet. we're just going to give you guys a window to get you excited It's pretty obvious what they did... "spring 2013" comes then release loads of info then tell everyone the true release date. To believe the game was going to be released in spring 2013 was pretty silly. You're one of those people who are willing to bend logic past the breaking point in the name of "staying positive." It's pathetic. I'm simply more pragmatic and honest, that's all. And I'm not pissed off about the delay. Was I whining about it? When? Where? Show me. I was disappointed when I first heard about it, but I quickly got over it. I have plenty of things to keep me occupied in the mean time. Unlike you, from the sound of it. The GTA V delay "giving you something to look forward to" clearly implies that you have nothing else to look forward to.
