This time it's different because the day GTA V releases I only have one university lecture on that day so I'll just play the game for the rest of the day when I finish. Like someone else said, if you had to lie about it because people rely on you/you can't afford to for some reason, then it's very immature. But otherwise I agree that it's more sad if you loved something and weren't willing to take time off for it! The majority of people don't do anything important anyway, if Julia Gillard was taking the week off to play gta5 the I may be pissed however. Well like if you have an exam in school or an important meeting at work, it's probably a bad idea to miss the day if it happens to be on the 17th. But if it's just a normal day and you're able to make it part of your vacation days (instead of lying about being sick or something), then I think it's fine. Go to work then once you're done you have all night and tomorrow to play GTA V. A week is crazy but if people want to waste their vacation time on it so be it. They did earn it after all. However, I sincerely hope that I have very little schoolwork to think about in the week of release If I were out of school and only had work to deal with daily, however, I would make sure to try to book a few vacation days after Sept 17th. You can't really book days off of school (well, you can, but you know what I mean), but it is easy to line your days off of work around a certain date. Yeah, I'm thinking there will be a worldwide pandemic of the GTAV Flu for about a week, with some fraction of lingering cases lasting about a month. Do you think they should just wait to play? Post what you think l f*ck i wish i could. i completely severed my distal biceps tendon training for a boxing match. i had it fixed in february and go back to work in july with absolutely no sick or vacations days. i wish i had at least one day to take off for gta v but i dont. gonna be a long day at work i guess. In other words, your life is your own, and such life should be enjoyed to the full. Taking a day off to lounge around the house, do the gardening, go swimming, climb a mountain, hire a prostitute, play the game - whatever you want to do, taking a day off to do so is not sad. School's the best time to have off cos it's bullsh*t - throwing a sickie has no conseuence. Doing so when you've got bills to pay, is different. but if you can, I dont see why not. P.S. When i say school's bullsh*t, i mean it's a lot less than it could be - half of what you learn is pointless, and the ideals it gives you (that you can have 1/2/6 weeks off for half term etc) is rubbish, that you get away with so much. it doesnt prepare you for the real world at all!
