Travís.
When people get GTA V i'm nearly 100% alot of people will take a day off schoo/work. In your personal opinion do you think it's to much? Do you think they should just wait to play? Post what you think l
blakeney
No way! It's sad if someone doesn't want to! I'm gonna test the water with my mate closer to the time, he doesn't really game, so im not sure how he will react to me taking the day off lol... it will put that day of customers out a bit, or we will have to switch our days around to fit every one in..... but if he can be blagged... i will blag lol! Polish_Trucker
If I was at school and GTAV came out, I would wait until the weekend... education is more important that a video game, unless you want to be a bog cleaner..

HoleInTheSky
Business as usual, but I'd go about my day with an extra spring in my step knowing that GTA V is waiting for me at home. It's not sad to want a day off, but reality says different.
Kiffster
I never take a day off or whatever. I play games when I have free time. That's usually after 4 or 5pm. And all day on weekends if I'm home However.......... When GTAV comes.................. I'll apparently be sick
wwinterj
Why not play the game after work? Seems pointless missing a days pay just to play a video game. It's either a blessing or a curse that I'm not in that situation so don't have to make that choice.

Paper Mario
I'm taking the week off in which GTA V releases. Maybe 2. I want to enjoy and don't want to be bored at school and internship. I wouldn't be able to pay attention anyways. GTA V would be in my mind at all times haha! People saying it is sooo wrong to skip a few days are really.. Stupid imo.. As if missing a couple of days will ruin your whole life. Get your sh*t together if you think like that. Ever heard of working ahead of yourself? Finish extra work and then you can actually take 2 weeks off.
gmcb007
Well if you have spare holiday time then not really. I'm usually working 7 day weeks so sometimes its nice to have a day to relax and just enjoy a game. If you're in school, well, you really shouldn't be playing GTA full stop! DoctorVictim
I'm not sure if my 2nd year of Uni will have started then, it's touch and go. I think I had my induction about the 17th last year, so, maybe I'll be off, if not, it'd probably not be wise to miss the first day, outlining my year and that. I am gonna get so lost in the GTAV world though, I'll probably suffer in my first few assignments.
d3ex2
No, it's not sad. People take days off school/work for other reasons. Would you call it sad if someone took the day off school/work to go see their favourite band? Sure, they could easily just go to school/work then go to the concert at night but people want to make a day of it because it's something that might not happen often. Same with games. I could just wait until I get home to play it but I want to make a day of it because it's not every day you get a brand new GTA game. If you think it's sad then that's fine, it's your opinion but there's nothing wrong with it.

CalgaryJay
That stuff's all subjective. If you're 30 like me, living with a girlfriend and trying to make rent, taking a whole week off to play a video game isn't gonna fly. But if you're younger and able to comfortably do it, go for it. There's no blanket answer, it varies from person to person depending on their sitchy. I'm considering "getting sick" on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday, but we'll see what work is like first. At the very least, I already told the girlfriend to make sure she has plans away from our place on the 17th, and that weekend as well. EDIT: I read OP title wrong, thought it said taking a week off. Nothing wrong with taking the day off for GTA V. In fact, if you're a big enough GTA fan to be a member on a GTA MB, I think there's something wrong with not taking the day off for it.. I was only joking, I am just glad I'm past that stage where I find myself stuck in a boring classroom all day eagerly waiting to get home! Annoyingly enough, I have to book all my holidays at the start of the year and I forgot to book that September weekend off... Oh well, it was a shame I fell down the stairs that week! TrevorsMom
If it was any other game then it would be a normal day. However, it is GTAV so I will be taking the whole WEEK off to play it. It will be like 456,896,392 Christmas' at once.
Durden
The only thing sad is people who consider you a loser for skipping work/school. I feel sorry for those close-minded people who wouldn't miss work for a video game, but would miss work to attend an NHL game of their favorite team live. Some people are just stuck on their high horse, and thus look down on everyone else's hobbies/passions as if they're pathetic. Like it or not, gaming is a very prominent hobby in today's society (only getting bigger) and it is no longer socially unacceptable to be a hardcore gamer. I see gaming as art - they are amazing experiences that provide countless amounts of fun and really provide insight into the minds of others (the developers). I'm very happy to be a hardcore gamer.
