DrDucky
I just wanted to make a topic so we can all express our hate for minivans. This is why I dislike them... they're f*cking hideous oversized slow bullsh*t ass suspension & driven by pussies I can't understand why owners don't go out and buy a full sized SUV. Yeah they're kinda expensive but still, it's not a van. ANYTHING is better than driving that piece of rectangular sh*t. Owning a minivan is like chopping your own dick off... smh what the hell kind of fun are you going to have in that thing? You're life is pretty much done once you got one haha. Driving is supposed to be fun, I don't see how someone can even bring themselves to get behind the wheel of a van without hating their own life. Lol I'm done now. Cursed
I'm sure they're very practical but if I see someone driving an MPV/Minivan I simply assume they're either not interested in driving or have given up on having fun. Unless of course it's a Mini Van
Outcast
You underestimate the power of the minivan my friend. For work we have a Buick GL8 which is used for ferrying a load of people to and from the airport or to and from the construction site. For that purpose, there is nothing better than a minivan. Cursed
Taxi drivers in Minivans can be forgiven. There's quite a big culture surrounding luxury Minivans in China isn't there? I don't really understand that, sure they're good for hauling lots of people about but visually they aren't nice to look at, a big executive saloon is more impressive. Tycek
Minivans are only good for one purpose. Since they are vans they're needed for cargo hauling or transporting small amounts of people. I can't see someone driving a minivan for a daily basis, except soccer moms or workers.
Moth
I can't see someone driving a minivan for a daily basis, except soccer moms or workers. And that is their purpose. Plus for the most part, they do a better job for most families then SUV/Crossovers. Tyler 1 Formerly known as The General

Yeah there is, they're also very popular fleet vehicles as they're versatile. The luxury ones like the Toyota Alphard are usually seen on school runs (drivers drive them) as successful businessmen like to get them for their family. Odds are if you have a luxury minivan, you'll likely have an S-Class or 7er to go with it.

Wolf of Badenoch
Only minivan I will ever find to be nice looking vehicle is the 3rd Gen Chrysler Voyager. I've seen quite a few Chrysler Voyagers the Glasgow area. Pretty eye-catching. The only mini-van I'd ever buy myself is the Ford S-Max. epoxi
This is what I think when I hear "Minibus." With regards to minivans, I still think they are better than crossovers, because they aren't pretending to be what they are not. Carlover325
My step-sister drives a 2005 Dodge Caravan. It works great for her and her 3 kids as well as her husband's 3 kids that come over quite often. 6 kids and 2 adults and a minivan starts making sense. Tycek
That Merc is one of the most atrocious cars ever made. It looks like different parts were just threw there without any specific idea what should it be. Audi is okay, but how we ventured from Minivans to Station Wagons? gtamann123
My dad drives a 2012 Toyota Sienna. He usually drives SUVs so when I first saw it I was like "Eww a minivan?" but its actually turned out to be the best vehicle we have ever owned. Last year it took as all the way to L.A and back and down to Texas and back without a hitch. All of the extra cargo space made it so simple. And it makes it really easy to carry a ton of gear for when we go canoeing or something or take the dirt bikes out. Plus it tows like a semi. I have to say my view on the minivan has been completely changed by my dads Sienna. It's an amazing vehicle. He drives it to work everyday and I thought that was pretty humorous at the beginning but he told me that his company makes the motor mount for them and he designed the robot that cleans off the parts. So I guess its pretty cool that his handiwork went into his vehicle. This is almost exactly what his looks like. Wolf of Badenoch
My dad owned a 2002 Vauxhall Zafira. He bought it second-hand in 2005. Me and my family went on holidays every year with it, even traveling to Galway one year, 726 miles there and back. The tax disc ran out on it last year, combined with my dad out of work at the time (he now works as a taxi driver) and the car needing work, it has been stored in a lockup near my old house ever since. I've no idea what's going to happen to it in the coming months. Edited June 22, 2013 by Valenta
Ben73
I dont get why they are called minivans, shouldn't it be minibus? In Australia they are hust called Vans. I'd never buy one, but I see why people whop don't care about cars or driving do. If I had too many kids I'd personally buy a large 4x4/SUV. Hell I'm going to buy a large 4x4/SUV soon even if I have no kids. LandCruiser would be nice but it's too big for the Mrs tastes.

Pyrrhic
In Australia they are [j]ust called Vans. Down south we just call them People-movers. Vans for us Victorians would refer to something like this (sorry for the retarded transparency) Then there are ones that are sort of in the grey area like the Mercedes Viano/Vito But really who cares they all look sh*t. Our lord Steve Jobs
Minivans are good for sex with prostitutes or your significant other. Especially if they're Dodge Caravans equipped with a seat that turns into a bed: And both the 1984-2000 Caravan and the old Mitsubishi Delica (a truck based minivan) can have a twin turbo, 3.0 V6 swapped into it to get away from cops if you're caught: http://www.jdm-online.com/media/catalog/pr...SC_0052_1_2.JPG I LOVE MINIVANS BECAUSE OF THIS
Our lord Steve Jobs
Then there are ones that are sort of in the grey area like the Mercedes Viano/Vito I saw a 1997 model Vito for sale in Canada for like $11k. That much for a piece of junk that people can't fix there. This would be more worth like 2k to 3k but what's more funny is this thing is so expensive: Yes, it's a GM minivan, they selling it for like $6k but I also saw it for like 8k This would be worth like $3k For both vans, their excuse is: IMPORTED FROM GERMANY! The GM Van: CONVERSION DONE IN JAPAN (before it got sent to Germany), LOW MILES, MOSTLY AUTOBAHN DRIVEN Importer site: amazingautoimports.com

RoadRunner71
This is almost exactly what his looks like. Christ, that looks like a whale... I hate that Toyota and Lincoln new style front. A friend of the family has a Renault minivan (they have two kids and, afaik, regularly travel). It has a lot of room so it's quite comfortable to travel in it. I'm not sure about its mileage, though.
