Posted June 19, 2013 Share Posted June 19, 2013 Poor logic http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=556469&st=0 What kind of idiot creates a thread and uses a picture with imaginary streets drawn on it to somehow "prove" the screenshots of IV and V aren't comparable and then comes up with a size estimate for Los Santos that shows the screens are comparable? You did all of that work and then proved yourself wrong. Liberty City has more streets then Los Santos, each block from Los Santos is longer then Liberty City, each block from Liberty is shorter wich means more streets, roads, Believe or not, it's your choice. To the quality over quantity people, Since GTA V is going to be Rockstar's biggest map, that would mean it's going to have less quality than their smaller maps, right? Quality>Quantity. It may be their biggest map, but it's not going to be no where the size of Just Cause 2 or even the True Crimes games. Didn't you people say it will be around the size of 25sq miles or something? That's not that big. Manhattan is 33. For reference. Ya, but it no where the size of that and once you take off some sq miles for the interior and what not, it becomes even smaller. This isn't SA but it doesn't turn it into SA even if there is another city. Oh and btw, I can go outside or to California and see it for what it really is, a game isn't the best example. Not too sure what you're expecting in this game neither. Detail is a thing that people skim past, no one cares and it doesn't make a much of a difference. And that's why you are and always will be a failure in life with this thinking ! I'm a failure in life because I support speculation, peoples opinions and ideas? Good one. No, because you assumed people don't care about details which you declared as fact.But I didn't expect you to pick that up based on your two braincells in your head . I'm talking logic, not telling it as a fact. Sure, you want detail so you can go up to a wall and see those pretty textures but I'll happily say A LOT of people don't even care. Besides, I don't hardly understand you when you say people care about detail... What kind of detail? Grass? marks on a wall? bins? I already see those in the game. And do you realize what they've done with the AI system? It's being overhauled so that AI's are much more interactive in there enviroments, so yes a more detailed city adds to that majorly. First thing you have to realize is that this game is still currently being developed by R* North themselves, so they could have found extra time (since the Spring '13 delay) to implement those features into this game. Second thing you have to realize that the GameInformer article was published way back in November of last year. In the industry, things tend to happen like sudden delays of a release date(s), how products are marketed, deleted and/or added features, etc. This is how that relates to GTAV, it's easy to add in additional features, but it takes days, weeks, months, even years to create another massive city that's apart of a already massive open-world area. Los Santos will be big enough for all of us, I hope so of course, and we'll be getting deserts, beaches, wetlands, farmlands, wind-farms, surrounding countryside, etc. What more can you ask for?! Well since I'll be getting it at night I think a free dinner wouldn't be too much to ask for.. Nah seriously, the guys right about everything he said, it doesn't take too long to implenent things like businesses and what not, mind you it does take a little bit of time but nothing considering all the effort that goes into recreating a city. Also realise there have been various interviews where R* staff have said that they spent days and snapshotted over 100,000 pictures of Los Angeles alone. The Max Payne files have checked out on more than one occasion now, last part that checked out was the Cuban 800, it was in the files and alas, we find it in a screenshot. In those same files, SKII-ing and a Snow weather state was also found, alongside snow related vehicles. Rockstar have continuously said they want to keep it fresh, and keep fans surprised. I don't want 3 cities because SA had 3, I just think that if Los Santos is beautifully detailed and jaw dropping... just imagine what it would be like having another 1 or two cities with the same 'awesome rockstar' detail! It would be flipping epic guys!!! Seriously if we do get another city then EVERYONE will be over the moon about it. I can't imagine someone turning round and going "1 city was enough Rockstar... you have just ruined the game by adding another", and if someone does do this then I want to meet them face to face and just laugh at them for being just plain stupid. If there is another city it will be JUST AS DETAILED as Los Santos. Rockstar wouldn't cut the detail out. I expect we'll get some towns (I hope for this AT LEAST), but then these towns do need to be LARGE. I don't want to drive past 1 house, a pub (bar) and a post office (mail office) and for this to be called a town. Again if there is JUST 1 city then the game will rock no matter what. Im really really really hoping there is a northern mountain region with snow capped peaks. They did it for Red dead redemption and now with a map much much larger it would be such a wasted opportunity to not include the environment in V also.
