Now there is something I don't understand. This project seems to be to biggest SA modification to date. Of course it will generate expectation and anxiety. Tell me where is the problem about releasing betas and testing builds? It will give users what they want and it'll help the mod development with bug reports and so on.

 

Unless some of you "C++ experts" wants to laugh at people who don't know to compile, and telling them "Be pacient kid"

@The Clansman now tell me Mr. Smart One how those "kids" as you said can help us in fixing bugs(we allready have our eyes and testers to find them)?
About public beta release date - it will come in night between 31 December and 1 January....
because this is beta there will be a lot of bugs and troubles here is the list what my testers found atm:
1) seems to not work/has black DoF on ATI Radeon
2) can be slow

3) bugs with water and transperent objects ZTesting(maybe will be fixed before release)
4) a lot of other small bugs...
it's just a few of them and we will try to fix them after or until release...

@PetkaGTA : shadows fixed? The disappearing of shadows from objects out of sight?

@Petka : agreed with you, anybody who doesn't match to be beta-testers should patiently wait. but for me i quite agreed with The Clansman, maybe users who don't know to compile C++ should try it too on their computers (maybe someone here "kind" enough to compile it?) so they can see what this mod could do and maybe some opinion about this mod, recommendations, bug founding (not bug solving! bug solving is for you that can understand C++) but of course it's your mod so you is deciding here

what's the meaning of "black DOF"? because basically i could switch of between my ATi and NVIDIA cards. my ATi runs game faster ( i have both of them though that my NVIDIA is older a "bit" )

what kind of bugs? could you expose it a little?

@alayanrole black DoF - mipmapping(or something with samples.. idk) problem that have ATI(also you can see no shadows.... but i think it something else, btw you can see this bug in default SA sometimes(for example some roads goes black at far distances)) i hope we will find what causing these bugs after release...

mipmap probs? does this happen with original textures or every texture ? including the modded one that use mipmap tecnique? (for example g-txd)

I agree with that, as an example. i am on osx, i tried to compile it but it always told me that the dll files were not in the folder (they were there) so i cant test it. I would really appreciate it if someone could compile it for me, so i can see if it will work on mac.

Yes, it works, but, first: you are so noob that you don't know even how to fix the problem with the "sky.fx" (already that all you have to do is "copy and paste").

Mine works after fixing sky.fx. It has the same bugs as Petka said there would be with AMD cards. Luckly, I'll swap it for a nVidia card next month. :p

as far as i understood what he said is that you have to copy the sky.fx somewhere to get it to work. i didn't try it yet.

@PetkaGTA : Sorry if you dont mind , will there be deffered Lighting in beta ? And does lamppost lights cause additional shadows .
