Very impressive to see good old render ware pumping out those graphics. Do you think you may do any of the following in the future?

-III::Render, and VC::Render

-Height Maps (May look weird, and may require next gen quality textures)

-God Rays

-Ambient Occlusion

 

Also do you think it may be possible to remove the feature that lowers the draw distance when you fly high? Also, do you think that shaders could be used on the clouds (along with better textures, maybe some could be ripped from GTA V)?

 

Edit: Is the source code for Revision 99 the newest version, or is it an older version?

 

I think it would take a tad more effort to hack the III/VC engine as they run on DX8. As for R99, nein, that's the latest publicly available revision before they came up with newer builds.

well... III or VC::Render - IDK never tried to look at it with ida... so anything can be.(well i planning to do some IV::Render or V::Render(if it will be released on PC) to be sure you can burn your computer using it on highest settings(just kidding, but if so happend Render Team isn't responsible for it))

Height Maps - yep i think using relief or paralax mapping(maybe even with self-shadowing)

God Rays - yep... this and lens flares...

Ambient Occlusion - well i'll add some additional pass for it but i won't implement it because it will look not so cool as it showed on some screens... really bad technique

But anyway i planning to make GUI more customizable(for example you can edit your custom properties inside shader with GUI) currently i added 8 tonemap techniques(8th - users one) and 4 adaptive exposure controll techniques(4th - users one)... Next Stop - Lens Flares and God Rays

wow very nice mod. at first i just looked stunned by the awesome graphics u can get on san andreas. i'm just wondering if someone can give a link to this mod. doesn't matter even if it's an older version, i just wanna ty it out here :)

Honestly, I thought III and VC use DX9. Guess I was wrong though.

DX8 supports at least shader model 1.1.

@SilentPL well actually you can do shadows and cubemaps in dx7(i think)

Could you add option to use custom cubemap textures as vehicles reflections like it was in SAGFX?

Through fixed-function T&L afaik. Of course you'll only have a limited feature set since it's not programmable unlike the later shader implementations.

D3D8 API is almost equivalent to D3D9 API, one can easily create mapping interfaces or just replace all RW funcs with RW D3D9 .lib files from leaked SDK as I think DexX once tried to do to be able to use xs_3_0 as 1_x shaders are inconsistent and limited.

Will you release a new Source - Version? The r99 doesnt work for me(black sky, no shadows, etc.). Last one working for me was the r97.

As a matter of fact, they did, but as source code that you have to compile yourself. But if you're talking about a public release, no, there still are a lot of kinks to be fixed before they do one.

Rizqan, the source code was used by the testers to find bugs and reported the bugs to _DK and PetkaGtA. Btw, you need to know how to use Microsoft Visual C++ to build Render.asi... Uhmm, just wait until this they finish this mod. No need to request and starving for the mod like a Zombie :rampage:

Not necessarily so, but Pet and DK may still have to do some optimisation work before they do a 1.0 release. in my case I'm getting 12-20 fps whenever I run SA with the mod installed.
