Outcast
I'm currently at Königssee in Germany. Been hiking all day and I am absolutely broken. I'm lying on a bench while my compatriots stir up the fire so we can eat.

mr quick
Well. I got myself a Samsung Galaxy S4 today, and I LOVE IT. Worth the price? 'Cause I have an HTC Explorer that I got for 70 bucks that isn't too god a phone, but I don't want to spend an excessive amount of dough on a phone
Garfield 2
I got it on Bill Pay, so only paid €69.99 for it. But it's awesome. Incredible power (PSP Emulator tested), great camera, and it's got a temperature and humidity sensor!

Zyo
I'm going on a cruise tomorrow. 5 star cabin, gourmet restaurants, spas and Casino. I have never been on a serious cruise before. Its a bit of an old age pensioner thing to do, but I am kind of looking forwards to it. Anyone had any interesting holidays this year? Got any planned? Outcast
Surprisingly I've never been on a cruise. My parents are on them all year and I can sort of see the appeal in it. Pretty much a floating mall+hotel+casino+theatre. I don't have any vacations planned but I did go hiking and camping in the Berchtesgaden Alps last week. Also just got back from Amsterdam yesterday and will be in Copenhagen for work on Monday. EDIT: Holy sh*t Garfield, you ruined the page.

t0grul
Fake? Uhm yes, not fully golden, its original one isn't for my level, its just surface is golden. Not as expensive as you have got. Outcast
Pretty bling watch for an 18 year old, but it does look quite tacky and the craftsmanship is way off Rolex standards. The fit and finish of what looks like pieces of perspex on the bezel really gives it away and the lettering and numbers on the face as well. At a glance it's fine but don't think it'd fool the discerning gentleman. Congrats though, everyone all starts somewhere right? EDIT: Looks like a neighbour got a new 60" TV. I can clearly see what he's watching. Can't really see from the picture though. Edited August 27, 2013 by Outcast Pro_Gamer
Zyo
Back to phones, I need a new personal phone and I am looking for good recommendations. My old one is was a 3g iPhone (I know out of date) but its always worked fine and don't really replace things that still work well. Unfortunately 2 days ago I got drunk and threw it in a river (long story) ...and it needs replaced. For work I had an HTC a few years back that worked well, then a Samsung last year that was great but had a really bad button section, and this year I have a Sony Experia, which is the worst piece of phone garbage I have ever encountered (communicationswise). I am thinking about the Samsung galaxy Active. Does anyone have any thoughts about what is a good smartphone to get these days? sivispacem
I'm possibly going to get a Galaxy Active, as I rather like them. I've currently got a Nexus 4 which is all the phone any person will ever need, in all honesty. They're currently reduced to about £150 for the 8GB version (sold out) and £200 for the 16GB, handset only direct from Google. Outcast
I had a Nexus 4 for a couple months and it really is an amazing phone. I switched over to the HTC One awhile back (cuz Taiwanese) and I love it. Zyo
I am very interested in the HTC One as well. In fact the HTC I am somewhat leaning towards right now, as I prefer the overall design, the more stripped down OS, better sound, and what I judge to be a better low light camera. I do like the Samsung provision for extra memory and changable battery which are BIG factors for me. I got a Samsung Active to test today. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be quite as "versatile" as the marketing might suggest.... I am also looking into smaller versions of the above phones too. Outcast
I would definitely recommend the HTC One (you can't say I'm not doing my part for my ancestral country). Boomsound is great and I don't need external speakers to play music at a small get together as the dual forward facing speakers provide crisp and clear sound at a loud enough volume. In fact at parties I've had people come and admire the phone and it's speakers. HTC Zoe is also another feature I have come to love, basically it takes a 3 second video in lieu of a photo which you can then use to select the best frame. A lot of neat features include being able to cut out bystanders in a photo. In terms of battery life, it isn't worse than it's competitors but at the same time battery life isn't a strong suit for these sort of phones. I am constantly running out of juice halfway through the day but I have a 12000mAh Anker External Battery Pack (external battery packs are essential nowadays) and with that I can run my HTC One through multiple days. I recommend picking one up along with your new phone.
Garfield 2
I found the HTC One good, but I'd still take the S4 over the One. Speakers: They're just as loud on the S4. Design: Each to their own, but I think the S4 sits more comfortably in your hand. OS: TouchWiz on Galaxy is much more "iPhone" like and therefore much easier to use. Gadgets: Galaxy S4 has a temperature and humidity sensor built in, it charges fast, air swipe etc. - definitely awesome! Cameras: While the photo quality seems to be similar, the Galaxy's videos look better in my opinion. Both are better than that new iPhone 5C anyway. Sup3rman
Id say if you dont care about how the phone looks or if it feels cheap in your hand, you could buy the S4. One and S4 are so similar but yet so different, still they both do exactly the same things and do them well too. Its just a preference issue, which do you like more style and UI wise. I would take the One if i had any money.
Outcast
f*ck getting anything but stock android. Thankfully both the S4 and the One come with that option. I have the HTC Sense overlay as the stock android wasn't available when I bought mine but that should be the one you get without a doubt. I've had a lot of time with the S4 as I had to set my mums up for her, and i just found their UI really distracting as it's too colourful and "comic-sans" like. The One looks a lot more professional but the S4 has some crazy ass features which I envy (though I doubt they'd come in use day-to-day).
Illousion
I'm thinking of getting an Eames lounge chair. Either that or a Barcelona (knock-off, of course). Zyo
In the end I went for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. All the features of the S4 minus a few I won't miss, in a much more portable package. 8g hd plus a 32g micro sd card (will go to 64g), 1.7ghz CPU. A shade over 100grams. This is the phone pile: From left, iPhone3g which unbelievably still works. NEW Samsung S4 mini, Samsung SIII, Samsung S4 Active, Sony Experia, above is another Sony Experia. I couldn't find the old HTC to put in there. Anyways just a size/appearance reference pic. At the end, the choice was just between the S4 mini and the HTC One mini. I went for the mini version as I can't be bothered lugging round more than one full-size smartphone. the S4 edged it in the end as I really just wanted the option for more storage. There were so many good things about both, but both also have drawbacks, they are not the same phone. Not by a long shot. If only someone could combine the two.....Also this is the first time I have actually invested MY OWN money in a new phone since 2009 so thanks to all who gave advice. The camera is rubbish in low light (as I expected), took this tonight: Illousion, Nice chairs, the Eames looks fantastic, totally top quality. Wouldn't want to leave it. The Barcelona however doesn't look like a particularly comfortable place to be. I wouldn't have one. Sup3rman
Well im maybe getting a 3GS from my friend for only 50 euros...so well see if i will join the smartphone club or not. Anyway, went out yesterday and bought myself a nice habana cuba cigar. It was something called Partagas, and the taste was quite good, mild but not too bland. The smoke didnt want to come easily but it wasnt too bad, after a few puffs it came looser and the taste went also stronger.
Zyo
Partagas? Thats a classy cigar. I buy the Serie D and the Pyramides when I can get em. Also the 8-9-8s are great. Partagas is an old brand, one of the last real quality cigars that are actually made in the city of Havana. You have good taste.
