Outcast
I've been interested in G-Shocks lately as I lost my Autodromo Stradale whilst I was drunk, so I picked up a Gravity Master a couple days ago and I'm loving it so far. Solar powered, compass, world time, etc. It also looks like a fighter jet HUD. visionist and epoxi
epoxi
Does it have a countdown timer? I got used to using the cooking timer in my Casio and now I can't wear a watch without one. Edited April 1, 2015 by epoxi Outcast
Outcast
Yeah it has a countdown timer, though I'm still trying to figure out all its functions. Intuitive, the G-Shock is not. It just looks cool as hell and ready to survive anything thrown at it. epoxi
visionist
My mum's car stereo was nicked, plus my coat containing my Klipsch headphones inside said car. So I shelled out 270 Euros for these. They're an absolute pain in the A$$ to wear and I'm still experimenting with the eighteen (!) different earbuds they come with, but just tested them with Peace Sword by The Flaming Lips and they sound pretty damn good. I'm hardly an audiophile, but vocals especially seem to come from a real person, in the room with me, rather than a gadget. Will try different genres and see what's what... sivispacem and Outcast
sivispacem
I've got those. Fantastic but I struggle to find opportunities to wear mine given the price. If I'm at home then I wear my AKG K550s, away from the house my Audio Technicas, at the gym my cheap AKG earbuds and my Bose noise cancelling ones at work. visionist
After the neighbour complained about noise after 9pm, I wearily decided to pick up a set of MDR-HW700 "9.1" capable cans. The setup wasn't straightforward and the surround simulation... isn't. All I discern is two discrete channels thanks, of course, to the single driver for each ear, as opposed to Bluwavs' deep-into-four-figures monstrosities which pack multiple drivers around your ear for the real deal in surround fidelity- or so they say; I tried contacting this company, and concluded their product is vapourware most likely. No dealers, no brochure, no replies, nothing. Shame, they had my vote. Otherwise the Sony set is highly enjoyable. Usually muffled dialogue is crystal-clear instead of drowned-out by the surrounds; it's a "different" listening experience rather than "inferior". The soundstage is extraordinarily tight and focused, very "technical" and interesting. Trying the different modes is an experiment; normal gives natural sounding dialogue and better directional effects left-right, whilst cinema gives a louder, bolder sound and fantastic head-rumbling bass (a nice massage lol) but dialogue sounds echoey and a bit too bright. I very rarely use them; I don't have many older, stereo films and still prefer the real-deal when it comes to seven-channel blockbusters. Even if I have to watch them before 9pm. Outcast
Do we have any photographers here? I want to get a small camera, a la Point and Shoot, but with the look and quality approaching that of DSLRs. I have come to the conclusion then that the Leica M Series fits the bill perfectly. Now I just need someone to walk me through the different specs and models of Leica Ms. Any help would be appreciated.

Illousion
So as some of you may know I'm a car salesman. Lately we've started selling brand new US cars and trucks. I've sold a few Cadillacs but today I think I sold my first Escalade. Going to work out the details of the lease and stuff tomorrow but he called back today after I sent him a lease proposition yesterday and told me "I want to buy this car. And I want to buy it from you". This is the one, it's sitting at our store in Gothenburg. These things are mad expensive, over a million SEK. But damn what a fine ride. One of my dream cars. Although I would prefer an ESV. Tchuck and epoxi 2 Dreaming of California, where the sun never sets.
El Dildo
yeah it's a gross POS but if you like gaudy nonsense it's pretty much right up your alley. the Escalade Platinum base model is like $90,000 USD. with options you're talking like $125,000 for a "luxury" SUV which can't even go offroad. not to mention it's painfully ugly. grats on the sale though Zyo and mr quick

epoxi
Maybe it was watching too many rap videos as a child, but the Escalade is one of my dream cars. It has so much more presence than any of the more 'sophisticated' European SUVs. It doesn't have the heritage, it doesn't have any offroad ability, it doesn't have much fancy technology (in the sense of drivetrain and chassis etc.), many say the finish is poor compared to the Range Rover etc. but it just has that unapologetic pre-2008 bling bling air about it. To me it's nothing short of an American icon. I also like the idea of it being a GM, when things break at least you are dealing with Tahoe parts instead of having an SUV whose yearly maintenance cost exceeds the price tag of a small family car. El Dildo
if that thing is a 'dream' car then your Wigger status is officially official I've never 'dreamed' of an SUV to begin with, but if I had to settle on one, it would be Range Rover or the G-Class long before Cadillac. even Ford and Toyota make significantly more capable and useful SUVs. the Escalade is all ego. I can't get over the front end. the grill, headlights, and hood shape are just hideous. like a child with Downs syndrome trying to smile.
epoxi
The Range Rover is often the most unreliable car available on the market year after year, and likewise with its maintenance cost: mechanically it is the most expensive to keep on the road. As for the G-wagon the base model exceeds the cost of a fully loaded Escalade by $15,000, and Mercedes is known for some of the most disappointing customer service in the industry. I agree there are other marvellous SUVs out there like the LX or th QX80 but as an H2 owner Outcast would probably agree: there is no match for American excess. Off-road ability isn't the only selling point of an SUV: interior space, seating position, 7+ seats (which Range Rover don't even offer might I add), hauling ability and tougher construction offer a combination of features which simply don't come on any other platform. You could argue those in the market for a luxury SUV can 'afford' high maintenance costs, but I like to buy products that at least respects me back. I don't want to be milked by slimy dealerships who see me as another piggy bank to smash, I aim to make a living offering my customers value for money, I expect vendors to treat me likewise. if that thing is a 'dream' car then your Wigger status is officially official If you disagree with my tastes you could have at least chosen a pejorative which isn't derived at the price of stereotyping and demeaning an entire race. Oh hell yeah! You can bet your ass I've been in f*cktons of Range Rovers (most of my camping trips have been undertaken with friends in their Ranges cuz of the split tailgate) and G-Wagens (bloody f*ck is a G-Wagen cramped in the back), but things are different over here. In Asia, Escalades and Hummers, status and pricewise are the same as your Autobiographies and G63s (to the unassuming non-car person on the street ofc). The whole point of a big American truck outside of America is to be different while still saving face when next to your peers in their Ranges and G-Wagens. The feeling you get in those SUVs are very typical of your Teutonic/British luxury flagship, you're just slightly higher up. In the H2 though, you feel like you can do whatever you want because there's no fear of damaging the leather or scratching the paint, it's all just cheap leather and plastic. I use it as a truck to haul sh*t around. (Those are floor pans for my Karmann Ghia, just in case anyone was wondering).
