Let's get the ball rolling.

This is my everyday watch, and part of a small collection I'm accumulating. It's a Tag Heuer Formula 1, specifically Fernando Alonso's special edition. It's from the last run of 2012 MY Formula 1s before they transitioned to the new style.

user posted image

And this is my second-hand Colt. It's a 2006 MY I bought second-hand a couple of years ago. It currently only really gets worn on special occasions.

This is my Omega Speedmaster Professional.

user posted image

That was my first real luxury watch. I always wanted a Breitling out of sheer pedigree, but I just loved the looks of the Speedmaster. It also carries a great story, being the only watch taken to the Moon. Up next for me is either a Tag Heuer Carrera day-date, as I just love the look of the thing, or a Breitling Superocean.

Having the Omega though is pushing me for another, perhaps a newer Seamaster with the blue dial and bezel.

I'm thinking about getting a different one soon though. Maybe something from Armani...

You rich bastards with your fancy watches...

I have to deal with an Casio MTP 1183 which looks like this(dont really bother to put the real-deal picture, because the watch is nothing special really):

user posted image

I have worn it on my wrist for about 5 years i think. It does stop ticking once in a while, because it has dirt in it or something...meaning the rubber seal is broken and also meaning that fixing it would be as costly as getting a new watch. So i'll have to wait till this one dies so i could maybe get a bit of a fancier watch.

Heh, I don't think a $200 Citizen watch is anything fancy. It's a decent watch alright, but I wouldn't say it's fancy.

I would love an Omega Seamaster.

I'd like to get an Omega Speedmaster or a Breitling Transocean. When I was younger I used to wear a Tissot PRC200 which was pretty cheap but it worked well for me.

Apart from the excellent build quality and aesthetics, are expensive watches particularly accurate?

I've noticed my cheap watch slips to being a minute fast every year (better than slow I suppose), what sort of error does everyone else here get?

My Breitling has lost about a minute in the 18 montha or so I've had it. Tag hasn't changed at all in the last month, but that's to be expected.

Well since most of them are mechanically driven, you either have to keep them on an automatic watch winder or set them manually. If you wear it everyday then it should keep time very well, nothing like a quartz watch will though.

My Speedmaster Pro is a manual watch, meaning I need to wind it up every couple days. I really don't mind, takes just a few moments.

My Tag is a Quartz, the Breitling is mechanical automatic. Probably should have clarified that in my post. I need to wear the Colt for a couple of hours every few of days to keep it ticking over.

I don't have any prestigious timepieces yet. Instead I've collected a few from lesser brands like Vestal, Armani, Nixon, D&G etc.

(Old picture, not fully representative of current collection)

I'd like to get a Rolex Milgauss for its unusually (for Rolex) sporty design, as well as a Deep Sea or Sea Dweller.

And a Breitling Emergency with subdial.

Outcast- I had that exact same Tissot for a year or two just after I finished my undergrad. I really liked it- very well-made, nice and simplistic, and great value.

What is with car guys and expensive watches? They seam to go hand in hand.

My watch is "Elite" brand. It's Black and Gold and looks a little fancy. I don't think it actually is though.

Speaking of high-end audio, I've bought these recently:

Harman/Kardon SoundSticks III. Got them for peanuts. €50! They're usually €129.99 in the shops.

Awesome audio quality.

I want to buy some floor standing speakers though. We used to have a Mission M33i + Marantz PM4200 + Marantz CD6000SE setup. It sounded very nice. Good bass, excellent mids and highs.

I had a set of the Soundstick IIs. Don't rate them at all- found them fuzzy, a bit gutless and lacking in mid-range. Can't speak for the IIIs though.

These are my desktop speakers:

I recently bought a pair of Microlab Solo 6Cs, fairly cheap (£80) but they're highly rated for their sound quality in comparison to similarly priced competitors.

I really like the look of those, classic functional black hi-fi speakers (with a built in amp too, which is especially convenient).

It says 15W RMS on the specification, I am always surprised at how much power that actually means. I have a small Morphy Richards hi-fi I picked up for £15 and its 15W RMS delivers more volume you ever need at your computer (without sacrificing quality).

What do you all have in your cars? I am sure my setup is pretty ghetto compared to everyone's but I have:

I have a CDX-GT920U (I paid £55 IIRC). The sound quality is excellent compared to my old JVC, has a virtually infinitely customisable visual equalizer, a great adjustable subwoofer crossover which has vastly improved the sound coming through my regular speakers (which in turn have another crossover for tweeters). My sub setup is a basic 1200W Sony Xplod sub powered by an MB Quart PAB2100 amp.

They produce an amazing amount of sound given that they're about 6" x 4" x 5" in size. All components are custom- no off-the-shelf gear in them at all. For £120, utterly amazing. Quality is incredible. They sound better than various £4-600 "big" speakers at reasonable volumes. Lack a bit of clarity in bass when turned up really loud, but what do you expect with a speaker that size? Midrange and treble better than most speakers twice their size and price. Amazing sound clarity, very pure (not artificially rich like many high-end small speakers are).

At some point I'm going to upgrade to the A5s, which are bookshelf-size jobbies, along with the S8 subwoofer. Not cheap at £650 for the two but excellent

OEM Bose stereo. 12 speakers, 255w.

Never been one for spending money on non-OEM stereos in cars, personally. Changed head units before but never gone all out, fitted subs ect. Purely for the reason that cars make terrible audio enclosures.

For speakers, I've only got 4. The 2 in the rear sound bar are Infinity, which are from a Cherokee Limited I found at a junk yard. My front door speakers were blown, so I replaced them with Pioneer TS-G1344R's. The Infinity's sound better.
