Don't you guys think weekly issues are a bit too much? I mean, even an unemployed maniac or someone who spents all day in internet will find it hard to do something like this every week. Your rl issues will somehow find a way to tackle you, you know.

Imo, monthly issues would be nice.

Or don't have a schedule at all and have everyone put it together at their own pace and release whenever it finishes. A few pages back a few people mentioned that they didn't mind if it wasn't scheduled, and I don't mind either. smile.gif

It doesn't take long to produce a weekly issue honestly. Quick interview, which we have lzw3 for, quick gaming chat news, which we have Foley I guess? since Nova will be MIA for a little while and regular forum news that Shoumic could handle easily, or even with Andreas' help.

Probably take acouple days for everyone to do their respective part but setting up an issue would only take 20-30mins at best. It isn't hard task.. I rather see a Weekly than a monthly. Multiplayer Monitor deals with most matters and Andy's monthly, I think GTAFW would better be suited as a weekly deal. I just think that Ace took on more than he could chew considering his age and life (school, etc).

It may seem like that GW for you. But once you are the leader you'll know it takes hours to write articles. I've got a busy schedule and I am really leaning on monthly issues like Multiplay Monitor, it'd take a lot of workload off me.

So yeah Monthly issues, I guess. Got to think of a new name now, GTAF Newsroom maybe?

I'll wait for confirmation on whether Monthly Issues Yay or Nay.

I'd say stick with the weekly, but just reduce the content that so you can manage it more easily. I don't read it all anyways, don't know about others. But then I don't read the entire newspaper either, or an entire magazine, or always read an entire thread or even an entire post. I guess I'm a lazy reader. Heck, sometimes I get halfway through a word, and I just stop reading. Well, not really, I mean I'm not a f*cking goldfish. My attention span isn't quite that bad. But I'd say the weekly is perhaps a bit too long, for what it is. Which is just a quick summary of what's been happening, and usually there's f*ck all happening. Maybe if there was something big, like GTA V coming out, you could do a slightly longer issue. But really, you just need to cover the basics and anything else is a bonus.

"It's been another week in gen chat, some more forumers committed suicide because of their depressing lives, a few more sh*tty 1k milestones appeared, another news article about a shooting is generating discussion again, and it turns out I hate myself and I've started self harming".

Just like that, upbeat and positive. And cover whats been happening concisely and clearly.

I'd say bi-weekly if weekly is too much

I'd agree in part with lzw (below me) but say maybe you are overthinking these articles, trying too hard

@stu, you didn't mention my unsh*tty 5K milestone cryani.gif

Pretty much this man.

What do you mean by leader? It doesn't take a leader to make a quick e-article on a summary of what's been happening. lol.gif I would suggest what Stu said, make it brief and to the point, no need in adding too much as this criteria isn't required for a diploma in a Uni or something. I'm also a skim reader, I don't read entire issues of anything unless it's Playboy and I'm on the sh*tter.. other than that.. not really.

I wouldn't suggest a monthly because if you think it's hard doing weekly, just imagine monthly and all the research you will have to do to gather into one issue. Just stick with weekly, hand it over to someone who has a bit more time or just do bi-weekly then. It's not that hard man.. don't put so much thought into it.

How about once in a blue moon? if it's a bit too much, how about yearly? if you're related to Chuck Norris, try like once in a f*cking decade.

Nobodys even reads these days.... kids with their damn video games.... teens with their sh*tty overrated swag.... elders with their supriority complex.... trolls with their lame gifs.... hoes with their AID infected vaginas....

What's next? Struss Zelnick for president?

If the issues are gonna be fancy as f*ck, then either go with monthly or bi-weekly as Nateshaw92 suggested.

Finite

Managed to get a bit of Internet from the hotel in Fethiye, for anyone wondering why I haven't been able to write any articles on the Gaming Chat section recently it's due to me having to prepare and get ready for my trip to Turkey. I'll be back in two weeks now, but the Internet access I get is a bit, well unstable at best, so I haven't been able to access the forum for nearly three days.

Anyway, I hope that clears a few things up.

If it takes you hours to write articles there is either something wrong with you or something wrong with the articles you are writing.

It only took me 10 minutes to write the Gaming News article, and I'm pretty sure I wrote a sh*t ton this time.

Maybe we do need to change the schedule, weekly to bi-weekly (as mentioned by NateShaw92), that would possible be better than having to do this weekly but then again, the articles inside would be much larger. For example, in the Gaming News article, there's 4-5 stories tops, but if it's bi-weekly, it will be double that with outdated news.

Also..

[5:06:16 AM] Antagonista: Would you like to collaborate with me ? On the GTAF Weekly gaming news?

[10:11:13 PM] Иѳѵɑ Şɛcuʀɑ: Nah, you can work on that by yourself, I'm too busy at the moment...

Nothing really spectacular happened around GTAForums. Other than the fact that you might have experienced the 'Request timed out' error. From what we know the staff are working on fixing this issue that has been happening whenever you try to log in or post.

Believe it or not, but Rockstars most ambitious and biggest game yet releases next month! Finally, the long wait is nearing an end.

canttakemyid created the topic 'In R*'s Shoes: The Human Cost of Developing GTAV'. The purpose of it is to point out under which conditions the employees of Rockstar have to work. Share your thought with us!

Rockstar Games updated the cover picture of their official Facebook page around a week ago. That doesn't sound all too interesting, however, if you take a look at the screenshot, then you can see that ESRB rated GTAV. The most interesting thing about the rating is the fact that it says 'Mature Humor'. What that exactly means and why it's there can be discussed in the 'GTA V gets US rating' topic. Another interesting thing: according to this website, V is rated R18+ in Austrialia, and the drug use seems to have the biggest impact on the rating.

12 new screenshots were published in total on the Rockstar newswire as you can see here. That's presumably one of the last batches of screenshots you will get to see until the release. You may discuss about it in the '"The Fast Life" Screenshots' topic.

SomeManForGTA created an interesting topic, namely the 'Mini Games and Activities Database'. If you want a nice overview of confirmed features of the game, then you are certainly right here. Help out if you can, and if you want!

What would you like to see in the revolutionary multiplayer of GTA Online? If you are interested, then you can discuss potential ideas in the '---Grand Theft Auto Online---' topic, created by member Phatgordo13.

Gen-Chat has been very active over the past few weeks. With Flynny or NateShaw92 opening up his 5K milestone topic. There have been a lot of milestone topics of late and Flynny's was the most notable. Other's include a 3K milestone topic by Gst035 and a 1K milestone topic by Mr. Leary. A fun fact, in this very month last year, many milestone topics were opened up and it was mentioned in the 2nd issue of shiva's GTAFW. Quite Ironic.

Rays727gta has become a hindrance for many members. Apart from pointless questions in the question topic, he makes worthless topics in Gen-Chat mostly about his drinking problems. OnePiece reckons he has only a week to post on GTAF.

Rizqan was allowed a second chance by the moderators, whether his new account will end up the same way as the old one, nobody knows but he still hasn't got rid of his old ways. Posting off-topic and trollish posts in several gen-chat topics.

'lucid121 is peadolphile' was the statement made by tms_junk in lucid121's 'Has anyone heard of DeepWeb topic', he might actually have a point, He was quoted saying:

"After his last topic about laws you don't agree with and him suggesting it shouldn't be illegal to watch child pornography, and now this interest in the deep web, which seems to be thriving with child porn, i honestly believe lucid121 is a pedophile. And I'm not saying it to be funny or to make it in to quotable notables, i honestly think there is something f*cked up with this guy, and he creeps me the f*ck out."

This is Foley back for Gaming News.

Welcome to Gaming News Weekly!

We have a few interesting stories, such as the latest DLC Pack for Black Ops II titled "Apocalypse" which releases August 27th as the final DLC pack for the game as we approach Call of Duty Ghosts which is set to release November 5th, 2013 for current and next generation consoles.

Infinity Ward also released a teaser video for Ghosts, which is set to have it's Multiplayer Reveal on Wednesday.

In other news, there is a rumor circulating that Amazon may be entering the Console War soon. Sources close to the matter have told Game Informer that "the company is planning on releasing an Android-based console by the end of this year, possibly around Black Friday." According to the source, Amazon will leverage the games and apps already available on its other platforms, such as the Kindle Fire, for the console.

Next up, we have Microsoft with two stories, one about the Microsoft Points issue, and how they are sticking to Xbox 360 for "several years". First, MS confirms that "Microsoft will begin the Xbox Live Marketplace's transition from Microsoft Points to real-world currencies in 'late 2013". They also have said "Our goal is to make this transition as easy as possible for you" and "After the next Xbox 360 system update, when you go to buy something or redeem a Microsoft Points card or code on your console with your Microsoft account, we'll add to your account an amount of currency equal to or greater than the Xbox Marketplace value of your Microsoft Points, which will be retired". Such interesting news from Microsoft, I'm glad the MS points system is being retired, I always hated getting left over points. Now about the Xbox 360, Despite the Xbox One being just months from launch Microsoft has moved to ease fears that it will abandon the Xbox 360, just like it did the original Xbox last generation. When OXM asked corporate VP of Microsoft Studios Phil Spencer how long the company planned to support the console he replied, "Years. Last generation was different for us, we moved pretty quickly. This time, you will see us staying committed to the Xbox 360." This is great news for a lot of you guys who are not getting the Xbox One or Playstation 4 right away, you will see more games releasing in the future.

I'm pretty sure that's all for today, come back next week for more breaking news, and much more.

A View From the OGA

Hello and welcome back to the "A View from the OGA". The column gives you an accurate recap of most of the events in the Alliance every week.

As you may know, we in the OGA are always looking for various ways to improve the forum. Bringing up new ideas for v1.5 as well as helping out with the development are examples of the alliance's efforts to contribute to GTAF and make it a better place to all.

We start this week by a tipoff from an anonymous user who later decided to be named "Master of GTAF" - that a Social Networking feature will be implemented to the forums. This means we will be able to link our Twitter and Facebook accounts to GTAF - and posting from them directly as well, as soon as v1.5 is out. There has been talks of adding MySpace later on with v2 in addition to a variety of other sites, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Elsewhere, three Yardie members have been caught applying to OGA gangs. The gang leaders discussed their incident and decided to punish them by forcing them to post a video of themselves eating their excrements in order to be allowed back. "It was brutal, but worth it" expressed one member.

On other completely unrelated news, former moderator and supposedly R* employee Aadrian has suffered a horrible case of rectal bleeding last week and is ongoing treatment currently. Sources say that an anal cavity search triggered the bleeding. This is real. We wish him a quick and healthy recovery. Post your well wishes in the topic! Get well soon Aadrian.

Till then, hasta la vista senores.

The Frenchmen who signed up in April this year has been the spotlight as far as newer members are concerned. He doesn't post much with a ppd of 4 but his posts are always thoughtful and constructive. It is unknown if he is an older member or the genuine new member but he still is a cool guy, Rudy, takes the spotlight for this issue. Bon Voyage.

GTAForums Rewind

Hey Guys. This week in GTA Forums rewind I'm going to talk about Mint. Now you may be thinking.. Who is this Mint? This is Mint. Have you guys had a look yet at his profile? See anything strange? I do, he has a medal. Now I know what you guys are thinking:

But Shoumic! this guy could have been a good contributor to the network!

Okay first of all it's shoumic.. You gotta watch the S. And secondly the guy has only twenty seven posts and somehow he has Five Karma stars. I'll tell you now who this guy is, he is the most commended member in forum history. Yes you heard me correctly, you may be wondering it's Dutchy3010 but it's actually this guy surprisingly. He has 50 Karma stars.. Yes 50. That's even more than what edisoncarter has.

He must have done something substantial to get awarded with so many stars and only with 27 posts. This is his contribution for the GTANetwork.

Yes he ripped adamcs's guide basically and he wanted the topic to be pinned and he wanted Karma. That's my opinion atleast.. But that's not what happened, the guide wasn't in fact ripped according to adamcs:

I saw you'd changed the font colour and added "PS SUP ACS" at the bottom, so I think your effort should be rewarded...

So this guy in fact for his hard work got the reward he deserved. One Karma star at the start. MMMS initially said "+0 Karma for effort.". But after seeing that he didn't in fact rip the guide he was given 50 as we can see here.

This has to be one of the biggest stunts the admins have pulled in this website and it's such a shame the administrators don't have as much fun as they did before. But this is expected as this community is a lot bigger now.

Also check the comments the others have made in the topic. It's a good one, would have gone into it deeper but if you read the topic you'd understand.

Anyway.. That's all folks for this week.

NateShaw92 and lzw had a little chat. Of course they always do.

LZW: When did you first play GTA and what GTA was it?

NS: I first played Grand Theft Auto in the late months of 1997 at my neighbour's house, it was the very first Grand theft Auto, we just used the BSTARD cheat and ran around causing mayhem, not much has changed in these 15 and a half years with regards to my play style

LZW: When and why did you first join GTAForums?

NS: I first joined GTAForums under the name "Annoying1962" in March 2008, I joined as part of the build up the GTA IV, I chose that name because it is my PSN name.

LZW: What's your favourite GTA game and why?

NS: Tough one. It's a tie between San Andreas and GTA IV. I love San Andreas because of the sheer volume of activities in the game, just so fun to free-roam around San Andreas and such a big map, and not too big.

GTA IV because I love the story, the characters and activities but mostly because it gives you the option to go online with some good friends and roam about Liberty City freely

LZW: If you could reside in any GTA location where would it be?

NS: IV Liberty City, because the climates in Vice City and San Andreas would be too hot for me. I would love to live in a penthouse over-looking Middle Park

LZW: Who is your favourite of all the GTA girls?

NS: Katie from GTA San Andreas as you don't lose your weapons when you die.

LZW: Who would make the best sidekick for you of all the protagonists?

NS: Claude from GTA III, because he would be the strong silent type and maybe I could borrow his jacket.

LZW: You're one of the Breaking Bad group, what do you love about the program so much?

NS: Even though it is so dramatic and serious, it can still be absolutely hilarious, we have Brian Cranston to thank for that. The episode titled "fly" is a great example of what I'm talking about

LZW: You're one of the definite regulars of GTAF.Skype, what are your opinions on it and have you made any close friends through it?

NS: It's ok, not as good as it once was, I made several close friends including Leo (claudespeedrulez), Kalvin (ManDog) and Nova (Lightning Strike).

LZW: Top 5 things that make you come back to GTAForums?

NS: 1 - lzw3

2 - getting answers to my questions (like my recent queries on rdr)

3 - discussions on gen chat, footy desk and gaming chat

4 - funny picture topic

5 - GTA V news - although I don't check much anymore

LZW: What is one thing that many people might not know about you?

NS: I am technically a published poet, that is to say a poem or two that I have written have been published in books, and not even my best ones
