It would not be surprising if the pre-load wasn't "unlocked" for download right at midnight. Rockstar games always have so much physical stuff too, unlike most games which have a 3 page black and white manual. Plus I canlook at my copy 20 years later and be proud that I kept it. It's not the game they are unlocking but the pre-load, so no harm in waiting a bit. Correct, doesn't matter if your PS3 is off.. it will turn on at the time of preload and it will install it, then shut down when it's all done. It's not like when it's done downloading we get to play it, we'll have to wait till the 17th either way. And you don't even have to check if it's downloading cause it will start automatically. Anyway, sent our local PS support an email asking about this. Probably million others doing so as well, so we'll see if mine ever gets answered. Got a phonenumber too, so might call that in a few hours. But yeah, I'll be really f*n bummed-out by all this, if it has changed to 16th day. In that case I could just as well walk over to the store...if it wouldn't be for the fact that I have already transferred money on my account and don't really feel like spending another 70 euros on the same thing.
