Vehicle damage improvement?

I'm not a realistic snob. I don't mind if this stuff doesent happen ingame.

But do you think rockstar improved thier damage system? I haven't heard anything other than in mikes trailer.

I'm talking the same thing that happened with helicopters in gta4. When you destroyed the fun the helicopter would spin out of control. Do you think the same thing will happen to plane wings and the blimp or tire rims and all coming out?

More or less the same. The damage system in GTA 4 was fine for me, although it was annoying when the tires got smashed in from a small collision.

i would love to see realistic damage for vehicles - when i drive a semi full speed down a hill and hit a car in the side, i think it deserves a little more than the doors being dented in. but technology just hasnt come that far yet. As for GTA V, im expecting a minor improvement over IV's system. i dont think you can knock wings off of planes until theyre actually destoyed, but again, it would be pretty cool. if that is the case, i hope that in order to do so, it would need quite a bit of force.

So far I've seen tires, bumpers, and fenders detach. Everything else looks about the same as IV. I expect a little more in terms of how far we can crush our cars though.

If its like IV but improved a bit then that'd be cool. If there are tanks in the game then it will be v interesting to see what the damage + physics r like icon14.gif

i want to be punished for poor driving. IV had some PC mods that got it pretty well. see a few of the previous 100 topics about this for vids.

Actually, technology is there already. Search up BeamNG, you'll be amazed.

General improvements at the very least, it has been over five years afterall so it should be. It won't be overly realistic like BeamNG (or vehicles nearly as fragile) but it'll still be better/more detailed than IV. With the addition of rollcages I'm expecting roof damage at the very least and there's probably other durability customization choices beyond that and the bullet resistance/proofing options maybe at the cost of increasing weight. I'm hoping that cars/trucks/vans have some degree of crushability if enough weight or force is applied.

If Volition can do it with Saints Row then Rockstar should be able to while still looking better.

So long as they finally add damage to motorcycles, I will be happy.
