Lost Legend
Played it earlier (newest one) Do you ever constantly find yourself during Heroes VS Villains to be put as the worst Hero/Villain or a rebel soldier/storm trooper all the time? I went Palpatine for 3 rounds and a soldier for 2 and there are guys going Vader and Luke for 5 consecutive rounds. sh*tty luck, I guess.
Murdick
Just started playing this a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying this game a lot. Anyone else find the flight controls really fiddly though? I'm used to steering / movement with left thumbstick in most games, not the right. EDIT: Never mind, I can swap the sticks in the settings, d'oh. Nah. I can crash in the middle of nowhere perfectly. xD Coleco

Can't say I have noticed this but I do seem to end up as the Emperor or Leia an awful lot. Finally got the jist of Hero Hunt last night, I did not win but had good fun trying. HaythamKenway
I picked the game up today, I haven't bought an EA game since Mass Effect 3, so I guess I have enough karma points saved up to be a little "socially irresponsible" for a change and contribute to ruining the game industry by supporting the Devil himself, right? Anyway, sarcasm aside, I had a really good time so far. The game feels a lot like Bad Company 2, with the simplistic charm of CoD sprinkled in. It's fast, carefree, matches go back and forth, losing doesn't feel like fighting an uphill battle and the atmosphere just draws in flawlessly. And, that's really all I wanted, at this moment. A fun game. In an era when so many developers try so damn hard to pander to proplayers and the competitive scene (I'm especially looking at you, 343i) and turn their games into no fun allowed "serious business" in the process, it's nice to have a simple shooter that just wants to be entertaining, no more, no less. Lost Legend
Hate how this one is focused on the original trilogy, the 2nd Battlefront had everyone from both trilogies at the time, really wish they had brought this out after TFA, everyone is wanting to play as the new heroes & villains. Just typical EA laziness.
Tails Prower
Okay so I've got a new question regarding Battlefront as had a bit of frustration at the weekend. Got my card hand and weapons set to what I like and at the moment my preference is the rapid fire Blaster Pistol, apologies I can't remember it's name. Now my problem at the moment is that the weapon has great fire rate and takes down enemies fine, I'm aware of it's range but my aim seems to go wonky when a players on the move, i.e I'll start shooting them so I compensate but directing to left or right with the pad but it seems to over adjust and I get killed. I've tried adjusting the sensitivity bar on my controller again (it's 20% default currently and I do have the assist on) but it's either too slow or too fast, anyone any tips, also Shock Blaster - I love it's immediate power but how can I work with it to get close and not get spawn killed? Tails Prower
It really irritates me in Heroes v Villains when I'm a Rebel, we've defeated Vader and Palpatine and now we just have to get Boba. Me, being so smart and all, know exactly where he is if the map has one of those large ships on the ground: hiding on top. My team almost always run around like headless chickens "Hurr durr, where's Boba Fett?", they don't stop to think vertically and our heroes will slowly get killed because they are so stupid and I'm the only one actually trying to kill him. Really grinds my gears. Learnt well you have! Yes I noticed this tactic in Hero's v Villains myself as has one of my close gaming friends, nothing you can do except watch the stupidity of the player base unfold before your eyes, I usually leave the match when I see that, no point playing if you're not going to win. My major grumble though is the spawn campers in the Millennium Falcon and Slave 1 in Fighter Squadron who just wait near your spawn location and get cheap kills as you re-enter the battle. Tech-Noir
I wish they would just nerf the DL-44 already, it's what keeps me from playing the game. I'm always ridding someone with bullets then they turn around and shoot me once or twice for the kill with that bullsh*t. Tails Prower
Azirah
The thermal imploder in this game is so f*cking annoying. Someone can throw it, I will move completely out the area and I STILL DIE?? Also, the f*cking DL-44 makes me want to vomit. Why everyone uses it is beyond me. It's SO OP. They nerfed the bowcaster & pulse cannon somewhat, but keep that stupid gun OP. & I really hate when people die as Leia within 20 seconds. She has a shield & can give herself health ffs. Tails Prower
I wonder if the reason they don't nerf the DL-44 is the reason because it's Han Solo's gun and that playing as him as the hero won't work as well or they think it would cause an outrage from those who play Hero Hunt's or Hero's v Villains. Azirah
Then they should only nerf it when you're playing things like Cargo & Blast. Leave the OP for Han only.
Richard Power Colt
What I heard is that this game in general is a lot of just you getting killed by sh*t you can't do anything about. Tails Prower
HaythamKenway
What I heard is that this game in general is a lot of just you getting killed by sh*t you can't do anything about. Yeah, true. The game is usually a massive clusterf*ck, but I mean that positively. It's a first shooter in a long time where dying doesn't make me angry, because the game in general is such an unpredictable experience. It's like WW1, you just get slaughtered left and right, but there's no real punishment for geting killed, no respawn times, no tickets, so dying is not really a big deal. But I completely understand why this doesn't sit well with most people. Battlefront just kinda wants you to assess it differently than any other AAA shooter. Tails Prower
Well after a painful night with the Targeting Rifle last night I'm sticking to fighter squadron and droid run for a couple of days as getting 75 targeting rfile kills was quite a mental drain/lot of hard work for such a small reward. HaythamKenway's words above kinda struck me this morning when I read his post and I think I finally understand why I'm struggling with this game, it's the unpredictability of it as most games you have a predictable pattern of events but not here so I'm going to remember that and try to bite my tongue and not get so emotionally charged when I play. I do wonder if the DLC will encourage me to keep going though, things seem to be rather quiet on the news front on that.
Tails Prower
I hate Fighter Squadron. I only play it when I have a challenge that requires me to. The Rebel starfighters feel so much more OP than the Imperials ones, I've never won as an Imperial, it's always the Rebels. I agree with this! It's very difficult to win as the Imperials but I've won on both sides lots of times. Does not help that their are issues with the Tie Fighters and the very hard issue of actually hitting an A-Wing (the majority of the player base now seem to use these), it also helps if you have a psycho killer on your team (my playing partner can do lots of player/AI kills in these rounds). Don't get me wrong I think all of the game modes are fun but they are not without their problems/challenges and Walker Assault/Turning Point is good if it's being played the right way but I think the problem I face is to me the players are just looking to kill and not actually focus on the team objective. I'm leaving this to one side for now, I will have a look at it again when the initial hype has died down a bit and the long term player base remain. Tech-Noir
Only mode that genuinely pisses me off is Heroes vs Villains because the Rebel heroes are much more accessible than the Empire's Villains. Palpatine in specific needs a serious buff as his lightning is not good enough for one-on-one fights, let alone 1v2s.

GIRR
So I've gone from being a poor player to an average, sometimes topping the leaderboard in Fighter Squadron but still learning the recoil et all with the guns in first person game modes. You can play in 3rd person. The thermal imploder in this game is so f*cking annoying. Someone can throw it, I will move completely out the area and I STILL DIE?? Also, the f*cking DL-44 makes me want to vomit. Why everyone uses it is beyond me. It's SO OP. You just answered your own question. It gets easy kills, that's why people like it. What I heard is that this game in general is a lot of just you getting killed by sh*t you can't do anything about. Pretty much. Pluse Cannons, Barrage, DL-44 are all things you generally can't do anything about except trying to kill the person before they kill you. HL's are more annoying than anything else. I almost exclusively play Walker Assault, it's usually tipped in favour of the Rebels again but I still really enjoy it. I have to disagree. IMO the only maps that truly in the Rebels favor are Endor and Sullust. Endor; because the little rebel sh*ts can be hard to see and for whatever reason the AT-AT takes, what feels like, an hour to reach each point. I have never won a match on that map as the Empire. Sullust; the second tier turbo laser turrets, as well as the door as well as the hallway leading to the becon ( or whatever it's called) is a perfect camping spot. For the Empire. That tier is basically a total death trap with virtually no way to uncapture those becons unless with a personal shield or a hero, even then it's iffy. Edit: Anyone else get pissed when a Rodian, Sullustian, Ishi Tib, or a Quarren kills you? I mean they are all so stupid and ugly looking. Edit: I really hope they release more playable characters for both sides. Just being a Shadow trooper and a Twiliek is getting really boring. They really boned themselves with that and the level cap. Richard Power Colt
I don't know if you guys have heard, but apparently a playable prototype for Star Wars: Battlefront 3 developed by Free Radical was leaked. I think it only works on like Xbox 360 dev kits though.

Tails Prower
Thank you for that info, I may well return to have a look at Battlefront once the update file has been made available for the game. The ability to create private matches appears to put an end to the issue of having to run around with idiots in the game, hopefully weapons appear more balanced too. HaythamKenway
It's disappointing that they didn't bother to make, at very least, a TFA expansion. I get why they are not bothering with the Clone Wars, both CIS and the Republic have a ton of unique models, but the Resistance and the First Order are pretty much just reskinned Alliance and the Empire. Takodana could reuse a lot of assets from Endor, Starkiller from Hoth, Jakku is already in the game. The hero selection is pretty straightforward too, just Kylo and Rey as Force users and Finn and Phasma as gunners. And the DLC would sell itself, with all the hype still surrounding the movie. Oh, well, gotta save something for the sequel, right? I wouldn't expect the Clone Wars until SWB III at this point, and even that is an optimistic estimate. josephene123
Really? The expansion packs are all in the from the IV-VI era? ... The laziness of EA.
josephene123
I don't think it's laziness, they probably just wanted to stay within the "classic" era. Would have been nice to see the prequels and new one, but oh well. Yes, so they can reuse the same heroes, character models and vehicles. That's my view on it, anyway

Tails Prower
Well I finally feel content in that I can handle the games guns now compared to before the update and the news of the upcoming DLC Season Pass stuff sounds good but still on the fence about buying or not. One complaint I have though is Han Solo and Luke Skywalkers new outfits make them look too much like normal rebels, got killed quite a few times last night by Luke because I didn't see it was him until the light saber at the last second, anyone else thinking that wasn't such a great new outfit?
