I forgot about that pic. I'd say yea, given the right angles I'd say those are definitely buildings.

Not sky scrapers or anything, but definitely buildings.

As for the other pic, that is a pretty distinct feature of the Gas Lamp District in SD.

Though there could be something like it in LA, no ones posted about it.

Maybe the "big one" hit some years ago and Southern San Andreas got separated from the rest of the state. Or in this universe the islands just weren't as close together to make bridges feasible. People seem to forget that GTA:SA's map wasn't one solid landmass.

My first guess would be San Bernardino. It's one of the few cities in that area that have skyscrapers.

 

 

The San Diego Sign could actually be based on this, they may have just edited it to look more like the Gaslamp Sign and put it in a San Bernardino town, but that's unusual.

I am sure there will be other cities in the game maybe even based off a city with a population 200,000 or so. But the way American cities are layered out will make it feel smaller than it is. San Bernadino is actually a city with a big population but does not look that way:

 

 

 

This City does not seem to carry that busy city feel people want. Most of the smaller cities are like that in California from what I can see on wikipedia

 

But as it is a re-imagined California did could add their own city or modify one of the cities to feel like a bigger city. This I doubt will happen because rockstar like to keep it quite authentic when it comes to parodying the towns and cites.

My point that I am trying to make is there will most defiantly be other cities in the game if that include Las Vegas and San Diego I don't know. But the ones it will include for sure may not feel like busy city due to how Californian cities are layered out.

San Bernadino or something like it is quite possible, If scaled down to the size of what we think is Paleto.

Especially since, with it's elevation , they get snow there!

Then you could have something like AHS, with Arrow Head monument & hot springs.

 

Cyprus? not the greatest city to reference, but hey, not a bad point.

Rockstar's not always truthful about what they say. You never know we might see San Francisco and San Diego make it into the game. I mean think about it, Rockstar had every capability to make Los Santos Metropolitan Area much bigger than Liberty City's map (and yes including the water not just landmass). If they had to keep Los Santos compressed a bit, there is a possibility they did it so they could optimize their time to build the other two major cities while a separate division of the team worked on the countryside.

 

Don't underestimate them... they're one of the gaming developer legends of the century!

do you guys realize how idiotic you sound? there will be multiple airports and landing strips in the game, a very very big city (los santos), and numerous towns and villages. there are no other cities! its a fact! rockstar has informed us in so many different ways now its ridiculous!

So you are saying that if a representation of the City of Calipatria is in the game (as it is the real life location of 3 things seen in screenshots/trailers so far) that it doesn't count as a city even though in real life it is a City?

You're not very clever if you don't understand that the people on this thread who are speculating for another city do not care about how many times you've said that R* said there would only be one city. Everyone here knows exactly what they said.

i totally agree with you. the towns we have seen are good sized settlements. basically all a town has to do to be a city is classify itself as such. as you just stated there is no size minimum for city status. my point is it was very clear (at least to those with common sense) what rockstar meant when they said los santos was the only city and there would be numerous small towns and villages sprinkled around the map. if anyone thats talking sh*t to me in this thread would read some of the posts i have made in this thread you will see where i never said there wouldnt be any towns or villages. as a matter of fact ive tried to steer the discussion towards the small towns and villages that will be in the game. the only point ive tried to make is las venturas wont be in gta v, nor will san fierro, nor wil san diego, now will any other large metropolitan area.

rockstar never lied about anything and those that perpetuate that lie are either trolling or more than a little slow. they werent originally going to include properties, everyone was pissed about it, so rockstar changed their minds and included it, then they informed us that properties were now in the game. this is not the case with the city argument. rockstar told the truth, they havent changed their minds, and they have informed us numerous times now that los santos is the only city in the game. saying otherwise makes you look like a complete dumbass. im twenty seven years old, not sure what that has to do with anything, and i include that smile because i know how much it pisses you off

I don't think there is going to be more than one city in the game, it's just the way that you make yourself look more than a little silly in your little crusade against anyone who dares to speculate on there being another city. Here's what you're not getting; you saying over and over and over and over and over and over again that "Rockstar said one city waah" carries absolutely null relevancy here. If you have nothing to add past that then I would suggest you stop making yourself look fanatical for a pretty dull cause.
