johnny_zoo
Why would we need to switch between cutscenes? I'm trying to figure out why Rockstar feel this is necessary. Multiple reviews have confirmed that this is a feature of the three protagonist feature. So if we switch in a cutscenes does the camera swing to the perspective view of Trevor, Franklin, Michael etc? If we're in a scene with only one of the main characters in it and we switch does the camera pan away from the cutscene and we go see Trevor sitting on the toilet? Or is it just because its a switch thing and its purely a gimmick. Can't see the use or reason for this whatsoever.
Miss Darko
I think they just mean that occasionally, during a mission, there will be a cutscene that plays and then you will be in the perspective of another character when it's over, as established by what's going on in the scene. Just one of the ways in which the game will make us switch characters during missions.
Chukkles
It's like some games,ie. MGS, let you pan the camera a bit in cutscenes. Nothing major that adds or takes anything from the game, it'd be fun to have the cutscenes a little more interactive. I've not heard of this though, where did it come from? Always post a link. Miss Darko
I don't think they said anything about a dynamic camera during cutscenes.
gtamann123
It just means that you can switch between the characters during the cutscene and then when its over you will be in control of that character when the action resumes.
Miss Darko
^ Actually, I think it's sort of like that but more in the line of an involuntary switch. Like, the cutscene will focus on Michael for a moment, then turns over and tells Trevor to do something, then it focuses on Trevor and then when gameplay resumes, we are now Trevor instead of Michael. Duxfever
One thing I could think of is that they're not all going to be in the same place at the same time. So like say more than one protag is in the same mission, but in a different room or something. It can offer some interesting perspectives and we can find extra bit of details with specific protags, but we'd have to be careful who we pick since it all happens in one go. voyager
i imagine during some cutscenes there will be a pause and we will either by choice or design switch to another character, choosing a character-specific end to the cutscene before progressing with the mission. say a heist is planned, and as a cutscene explains it, you are given the option of two or any of the protagonists to start or carry on the mission as. or, a heist is planned, franklin is introduced, and you are told to drive, then whoever you sarted the mission as, you're franklin now, buddy. not that you can just switch between characters during a cutscene if you get bored watching it. the cutscenes are usually in 3rd person, you don't switch POV. Dick Justice
Think the Bugstar robbery: The mission starts as Franklin driving the van to the jewellery store. On arrival, a cutscene plays where Michael and the two other accomplices exit the vehicle and begin the robbery. We now play as Michael, instead of having to switch from Franklin after the cutscene ends.
