GreenReign
Has R* elaborated on the weather we can expect in GTA V? Anyways, I think it would be cool to see some random extreme weather events in V. I'm talking things such as, tornado's, earthquakes, tsunami's, typhoons/hurricanes, extreme high winds, lightning, and sand storms. Imagine it, you're driving along minding your own business, when all of a sudden an F-5 tornado blows you away. Now of coarse things such as tornado's, and tsunami's should be rare, but earthquakes should happen periodically since after all this is a replica of California. The Unknown Man
I think heavy thunderstorms and such is confirmed.
kesta195
I wouldn't hold your breath for tornados or tsunamis, because LA isn't exactly frequented by either plus the amount of damage they would cause would be devastating so it wouldn't be properly represented in the game, but sandstorms are a definite possibility, as are tremors. I think one of the supposed leaks mentioned earthquakes.
GreenReign
I think heavy thunderstorms and such is confirmed. Yes, but is it possible to be struck by lightning. It would be cool if it was realistic, and was drawn to metal materials, and you could get hit by it and die.
customkingpimp
well, and ef5 tornado, ef4, even and ef3 are completely out of the question for Cali, only 2 ef3's since 1950.... so, tornadoes are completely out of the question, heavy thunderstorms would be cool though. Hey, with global warming, and all that, and increases in extreme weather world wide, it would be cool to see maybe one EF-3 or EF-4 per game play-through. Or possibly even have extreme weather cheats. Also, with the focus on the water portion of the map, maybe we might see a tsunami or two, preceding an earthquake, for more realism. Or maybe have a mega-tsunami caused by a massive landslide/impact.

jpalmer2004
I think a dymanic weather system would be cool. I live in Moore, Oklahoma. We just had two F5 tornadoes hit us in a two week period. One of those was 2.6 miles wide. I've lived through enough horror for awhile.

Doesn't matter how serious something is, if it is not making money, people lose interest. Anyone remember Kony 2012? That being said global warming isn't as serious as everyone makes out. The earth is heating up and cooling down all the time. Why do you think we have ice ages and interglacials. Anyway I'm getting off topic here. You said exactly what it is, natural earth fluctuation, sure, we MAY be speeding it up, ever so slightly, but when looking back at weather data from the past, what is happening is real similar to past trends. I have gotten into this debate numerous times while out in the field storm chasing with people passing by saying "would you look at that, do you think its from the global warming"

I know exactly where the storm started and ended. It started in El Reno. It then took a sharp southeast turn over interstate 240 and May Avenue in Oklahoma City toward Moore. The was an EF0 when it hit Moore. It also hit the same general area as the May 20th storm. Here is a cookie.
gtaman533
If there so happens to be this extreme weather there would have to be destructible environments or else it wouldn't be as epic hahah I could see earthquakes, storms that bring in huge waves, thunder and lightning. The Weather in RDR was great and it felt natural I think they are going all out with the weather in this game making it as fitting to the region as possible. Weather has a huge influence on Gameplay turnouts and outcomes that make it very interesting and fun. Edited June 8, 2013 by gtaman533

How exactly did normal people make money on global warming? It's the corporations and governments that take the normal peoples money because 'global warming', a thing that we can not affect the slightest. Blossy101
Maybe tremors might happen now and then, in game as an excuse to have an Ocean's movie heist reference. You know when they faked an earthquake. You don't have to be in Las Venturas to rob a casino.
GTAfan786
We saw lightning in one of the screenshots, so heavy thunderstorms is defo there. Maybe some small sand storm in the desert areas, like dust devils and whatnot.

Supercrammer
I think they said there will be on occasional tremor. It was mentioned in 2011. They may have removed this feature... I don't know though. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Rumor-GTA...Dogs-36731.html

Supercrammer
^ It could be false. But if you do a google search with the terms "tremors gta v" you will see a bunch of different articles have the same information.
Miss Darko
A lot of people reported on the same rumors because gaming journalists at that point were jumping on everything they could about GTA V because there was no actual news.
CommonSeb
If there is extreme wind then there must be extreme ocean waves. I really hope that's possible this time around. Nothing like being caught in a storm far from the shore in a tiny boat completely left to the mercy of the ocean.
