Guest Posted June 8, 2013 Share Posted June 8, 2013 Slightly off-topic, but I don't think R* have used an exact same song in two different GTAs, but there have been different versions of songs. One example that comes to mind is Deep Cover (I think that's the name) used in San Andreas and Liberty City Stories, although the one in San Andreas was Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg's version, and the one in Liberty City Stories was Big Pun and Fat Joe's. I wasn't meaning to be a dick at all so sorry, I just don't really want it in the game. I actually did listen to the song but I found it irritating, just my opinion. FWIW licenses for stuff like songs or brand names are usually for that one game only, so if you license brand X for game A, you have to license it again for games B and C. (Usually done with cars mind you but it applies to anything) Same with songs, just because a song was in VC doesn't automatically mean it can be in IV or V, R* would have to sit down with a record company and negotiate fees and licenses. And then hope years down the line the companies don't decide they want songs pulled (as with VC).
