Sniper Elite 3 is a 2014 scheduled tactical shooter video game. It is developed by British video game developer Rebellion Developments and published by 505 Games. It is a sequel of Sniper Elite and Sniper Elite V2. On the 10th January 2013 the parent company of 505 Games; Digital Bros., announced in a press release that Sniper Elite 3 will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows and next generation consoles. On 13th of March IGN picked up on this news which was later clarified by 505 Games. The game will take place in North Africa during World War II.

I am pretty excited for this, I loved Sniper Elite v2 and I am pretty sure I will love 3, hah! Did anyone play v2 (multiplayer)? If so, what was it like? I couldn't play it for many reasons, my xbox was flashed, Jordan's internet sucks.

Can't wait, I absolutely loved Sniper Elite V2, it was so addicting.. I just adored the whole 3d skeleton thing when a bullet goes straight through an enemy, also how your difficulty or whatever was customizable. Also how, well, I think I can say this.. realistic it was.

Oh, that's really great. Nutshots in that games were particularly painful to watch. biggrin.gif Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Sniper Elite 2 was great fun, loved doing the same level over and over again and trying to get triple/quadruple kills with one shot.

Haha, that video is epic, if I remember correctly, I had a nut-shot and an eye-shot with the same bullet, I may be wrong tho. lol.gif, fun and addictive game, I also heard that Sniper Elite 3 is much more open and not so linear-ish this time. Much more stealthy too, according to some previewers!

I thought the next one was going to be set in Vietnam because the main character mentions it at the end of the Sniper Elite V2?

Damn, I can't wait.

I personally didn't finish v2 because I was in the middle of another game but I feel like I should finish it now.

Never played V2 but still can't wait! V2 seemed to be a very interesting game.

I enjoyed the first one to be fair, it had its fair share of problems but it was not a bad game. Only downside was it was heavily aimed at being a big multiplayer game, and that just never really took off. I don't think i have seen anyone who hasn't boosted earn the online achievements for it.

Never played 2, it is on my rent list but i keep getting other games arrive before it. Have watched a couple of the first levels on a playthrough on Youtube though, and the x-ray cam was very nice.

I wonder how "open-world" or "sandboxy" will Sniper Elite 3 be, what are your thoughts?

Not very i imagine. As i say i haven't played the second, but the first was fairly linear. But then again most FPS are.

I think it'll be just like V2 with a few new features and new graphics. not that i mind that. the game isn't made to be open world. its just a sniper simulator. one of the best.

and even though im excited for the game. couldnt they have picked a better place than north africa?

North Africa played an important role in WWII so that is why I think.

Also, Rebellion said that they're making the game more sandbox-y, which has me excited even more!

I never played the original, but Sniper Elite V2 was fantastic.

if SE3 is basically just SE2 with new locations, more missions, and better graphics then I'll be all over it.

it's one of the best sniper games I've ever played.

Unless you want the thousand meter shot on a generic guy in the last level, then I wouldn't bother with the first SE. The sniping was good but overall, the game is outdated now. V2 is the definitive sniper game, and I'd gladly play SE3 for desert sniping.

All I need more missions and a Good AI

I also would like to see decapitation, because even when you rip someone arm off, it doesn't come off.

The entire damage model of NPC's will be better anyhow (I hope) instead of the generic wound pop you had in V2.

Not to mention a decent and more enjoyable co operative/multiplayer. Hell if they'd make a f*cking decent campaign that can be played and enjoyed in co op it'd be so much better.

Among then better handling/feel of weapons other than sniper rifles (sniper rifles felt f*cking great.... other weapons that that just blew/had no potential). Not to mention not being able to swap the shoulder view... and other minor gripes that made the game feel somewhat less "perfect".

Small arm fire rarely ever decapitates somebody (especially if the bullet fails to yaw or tumble). Unless if you're talking about explosions, then I do think that should be improved.

Sniper Elite V2 is a very fun game, and I love playing it with the full ballistics. However, it's still far from realistic. Any weapon that isn't a sniper rifle has spread (a sh*t ton to be exact), vehicles blow up by shooting them in the gas tank (something created by Hollywood), and it appears that expanding ammo is used in Sniper Elite V2 (which is banned from warfare).
