As a PC Gamer I'll agree with this. Take note that this sentence does not necessarily imply that the sales are bad. People would be surprised how prevelent console piracy is. Especially in the less wealthy Nations. People aren't questioning if GTA V is gonna make it to PC or not, they're just saying it's unacceptable to have to wait months to get it when most other companies do all versions of their games in parallel, which is most likely what is gonna happen since R* doesn't want to say anything about it, MP3 got released on PC just two weeks later but R* was also very vocal about that fact during development. You say it will be a port but there will be high quality textures available again and other graphical settings what won't be in the console version, video editor, Independence radio, 32 people online or something, high framerate, high resolution and other goodness. It's hardly a straight port like you are implying. It's ported and then vastly improved. Shame the optimisation was so bad for IV. Main problem though was it was a game for the future because not many had a powerful enough hardware at the time to run it. If it does come out for PC that obviously can't be took for granted until we get confirmation they will have learnt from IV performance problems with V. And I must say, a minor graphical improvement is hardly worth waiting months to a year for. Now if it was being separately developed, then those minor improvements would become major and so on. Just a shame that Rockstar are turning their backs on the platform that made Grand Theft Auto again. The PC version will no doubt be out several months after the console version. The original Grand Theft Auto first came out on the PC(Feb 28, 1998). Later, it was released on the PlayStation on (June 30, 1998). While you are correct the series started on the PC it didn't take long at all to then be on consoles. My point still stands that the platform that gave the game a platform is now a second thought. If GTA didn't get such critical aclaim in the UK would it have seen the light of day on the console, maybe, maybe not. Regardless without the GTA1 huge hype in the UK, and as you are an "adult" I'm sure you can remember this hype like me, there never would've have been a Grand Theft Auto 3. I'm sorry but please highlight the point I've broke down and been brought to tears on this discussion. I'm just merely debating that its kind of annoying that I'm going to have to get GTA V lite before the proper version comes out (hopefully). You saying you don't care about it not being released on another platform and getting in the discussion saying its not a big deal and basically saying get over it could not be classed as being selfish? Just leave it at that because we are going round in circles. Funny, the "proper" version will be a port off of the platform your insulting. So, the console version is the only true version, you'll be getting a port. If it was being developed alongside consoles, there's no reason they should have announced it. Btw, entitled much? You say it will be a port but there will be high quality textures available again and other graphical settings what won't be in the console version, video editor, Independence radio, 32 people online or something, high framerate, high resolution and other goodness. It's hardly a straight port like you are implying. It's ported and then vastly improved. Shame the optimisation was so bad for IV. Main problem though was it was a game for the future because not many had a powerful enough hardware at the time to run it. A port is a port, no matter which way you go about it. And I must say, a minor graphical improvement is hardly worth waiting months to a year for. Now if it was being separately developed, then those minor improvements would become major and so on. Oh and the textures resolution doesn't change through a port, so basically your only getting better AA and FPS and related stuff. Minor graphical improvements? Playing the console version is like rubbing Vaseline in your eye after playing the PC version. And you are quite wrong with the textures. Medium textures look a little better than the console version at 1280-720. High texture settings look far better so you are talking nonsense. The high textures do not come with the console version because they couldn't handle them. Maybe play the PC version before you make false comments?. You can play at a higher resolution what reduces the jaggies and makes the game look nicer, you can improve the view distance and detail distance, an incredible video editor what was just awesome, increase the vehicle density so there is more cars about(about 30% being the same as the consoles on the slider) many different graphic options that improve things like the water quality, shadows and car reflections.
