What do you think about fighting style?

Or don't want any similarities to "Sleeping Dogs"

For example:

Choose what type of fighting style you want to learn in GTA5:

Wrestling (American Style)

Boxing (British or Thai Style)

Kung Fu (Chinese Style)

Karate (Japanese Style)

Sambo (Russian Style)

If you have all these skills combined (MMA) It will make your character stronger to fight against the Gangs, Boss, Players and random people ect.

As long as we can tackle, doesn't matter to me.

Off Topic: What movie is that? I'm pretty sure I've seen it before, just forgot the name.

I doubt wrestling would serve you that well in a real fight. While you're grappling somebody, his mate's kicking your head in. I think boxing would be the best style for most.

Grand Theft Savage

The fighting in GTA IV sucked, and it wasn't because of the fighting style. I actually liked the style. It was sort of like turning defense into offense. The only problem was that it was limited as hell and very slow pace.

I doubt any of them will have any highly polished fighting skills but I hope it's as fun and addictive as Sleeping dogs fighting.

It'd be really good if they all had different fighting styles. Like, Trevor wrestles, Michael boxes and Franklin knows karate.

I think each character needs 4 or 5 different punch or kick styles. Eg Michael has a normal punch and 2 clicks does a punch/elbow combo, Trevor does a kick then a flying single kick, Franklin could have a normal kick then a grab head and knee to the face. Each character should have their own combo attacks

I just want the option to disarm someone with a gun if I'm unarmed, or at least attempt to do so. Punching some guy in the face that's shooting you repeatedly is more reminiscent of zombie behaviour than a professional criminal.

Plus American wrestling is entirely fake and basically a theatre act.

You're thinking of "professional wrestling" which is staged. Amateur wrestling is a real sport and has in fact been an Olympic sport for many years. It has proven to be a very effective tool in one on one combat as evidenced by it being an almost critical part of any mixed martial artist's arsenal.

Personally if I was in a street fight, where the chances of a fight being one on one are slim, the last place I'd want to be is on the ground. So I don't think it would factor much in any brawls a GTA protagonist might find himself in.

Just normal street fighting. Maybe some training clubs of Muay Thai or some other MMA would be cool. Hope it won't take just 5 min to become a pro though. More like 10-24 hours of practicing

American wrestling is fake and lame. The real wrestling is a respected sport genre and have existed in the modern Olympic Games since 1904. Wrestling is a 15 000 years old competition and was also an important program in the Ancient Olympics Games in Athens.

It was taken off the Olympic Games program a few weeks ago due to the lack of interest and to make room for other sports.
